The Pet Place
240 Shadowline Dr, BooneMy boyfriend and I have two pups who LOVE getting to visit this amazing shop! The owner (I’m not 100% sure but the woman who’s always there) is phenomenal at her job!! When our youngest pup had a bad accident with his paw pads, she recommended the best cream and gave us advice on how to handle the issue. His paws were feeling better two days later! I can’t recommend this place enough!!

Animal Medical Center of Boone
1582 Old US 421 S, Boone*THE BEST EXPERIENCE*I knew immediately when I called, I found an amazing veterinarian to call home. The kindness from those at the front desk is exceptional. The vet assistance ladies were so great and handled Kiska with so much love. There experience handling large dogs is awesome! The Dr. was hands down the best! She taught me how to administer eye ointment the proper way, and I have a future apt for dental cleanings. These doctors are down to earth, the best ever! I'm so thankful and blessed to have found these amazing folks. Thank you so much.

Pet Care Clinic of the High Country
1614 NC-105, BooneThe Pet Care Clinic of the High Country is the best for complete pet care. They “get” your animals and work with their idiosyncrasies and love them with you. The team at the PCCHC literally saved the life of our Great Dane when she developed Pancreatitis. And Even though our girl doesn’t love going to the vet, the staff there makes her feel welcome, and they look out for her. We cannot say enough good things about the Clinic and the Staff. They are Top Notch!

Pet Sitting & Training
Woof Pack Pet Services
410 Appaloosa Trail, BooneSo above and beyond any boarding services I’ve ever seen. I did not realize my dog had a UTI when I dropped her off - they noticed immediately. They notified me immediately, drove over 45 minutes to deal personally with my dog’s vet, got her diagnosed, obtained meds for her and gave her the meds while in their care. They stayed in touch with me the entire time. I could not ask for more and was blown away by their care for my baby. My dogs are always excited to go and stay there - no wonder, they are cared for like they are home. I never want them to go anywhere else.

blue deer on king
352 W King St, BooneMy husband and I were in town for a weekend getaway in Boone and decided to stop by blue deer for a sweet treat. We both got the double chocolate chip cookie sandwiches but with different ice creams. My husband got the coffee ice cream and I got the peppermint ice cream. Loved the cookie sandwich! Peppermint ice cream is so hard to get right especially since it can taste like toothpaste but blue deer got it right - sweet, tasty, and perfect texture. I loved it so much that I came back the next day to get the exact same thing. The two girls working were very nice and helpful. Samples of ice cream are also offered to help narrow down your options.

The Local
179 Howard St, BooneGreat food and drinks! Handmade sourdough crust made for the best pizza. I got the margarita pizza with a balsamic drizzle and it was perfectly cut with lots of flavor. The sangria is refreshing. The fries were cut thin and seasoned deliciously. Our waitress was one of the girls that works behind the bar and was one of the best we have ever had. Both indoor and outdoor seating. Really hope to go back soon!

Other
Watauga Humane Society
312 Paws Way, BooneI went to the shelter to just look at the animals and hang out with some cats in the cat rooms, however I fell in love with one particular kitten and didn’t feel right leaving the shelter without him. I was told that he’d been exposed to a URI and because of that, I wouldn’t be able to fully adopt him, but I could foster with intent to adopt, just to be sure that the shelter didn’t need to give him any antibiotics or anything before being fully adopted, which I actually found to be very responsible on their part. I took him home to foster, and the team was quickly responsive with any and all questions I had! Along with that, my kitten had a note both online and in his record that said that he’d arrived at the shelter extremely under socialized. I can clearly see how much work staff and volunteers had put into his socialization because of how sweet, social and gentle he has been from the start! I’ve been able to officially adopt, and I’m so grateful to the shelter for helping me find my forever pal!
