“I don't know much about engines or mechanical things, except for they take gas, oil, turn a key and hope they start. My tractor never started when I needed it to, and always turned off when I didn't want it too.So, I called a few places and finally got to speak to Ed over at A Mobile Service. He is nice, friendly, easy going and reasonable on the wallet. I have a very old John Deere 317 so finding someone to work on this dinosaur was not easy. But I sure am glad I found him.He came by, checked it out, told me his opinions and so he loaded it onto his trailer and off he went. After a few days he calls me and tells me what he thinks is wrong with it and gives me his opinion on what he thinks it will take to get it running again. No pressure sales, no pushiness, he gives me a quote and we go from there.He replaced the starter, tightened the steering, brakes, fixed some knobs, fully degreased it, shined it and made it look and run like used/new lol. He even went as far as putting on a seat cover from John Deere. Little touch that went a long way.If you need any type of repair on a machine that runs on gas and has a motor I highly recommend you call Ed. Here are some pictures from before and after for appreciation.”

“last Saturday in 100+ degree temperature, my car had a red triangle and check engine warning lights, which went away a few hours later. Yesterday Thursday, my local auto shop, check the error codes and top off the fluids. They couldn’t find any issues.Those warning lights came back last night on the way to North Fork, and the lights dimmed at times. A few times, a loud beeping sound happened, all the warning lights came on and and the power steering didn’t work.The NAPA store in North Fork, tested the battery using the electrical contacts for jumpstarting for jumpstarting under the hood and thought it might be the battery, since the alternator was working. They didn’t have a battery for my car and referred me to the NAPA Store in Oakhurst.Rick at the Oakhurst store tried to install the battery but found out it was an inch and a half too long. Turns out that Toyota has two sizes of batteries for Priuses and I needed the smaller one for the older models. Barry said there might be an electrical grounding or connectivity issue somewhere and it could be the hybrid battery. He suggested I consider taking it to an electrical testing laboratory in Fresno. Modern car electronics are so complicated! José, one of the store owners, suggested taking it to a local auto shop so I tried calling around to different auto shops, but none are able to take appointments. However, I really appreciated all the time everyone spent on my car ?”

“The Rusty Piston saved our trip to Yosemite. I made a huge mistake just outside of the park when I put regular gasoline into our diesel sprinter van. Don was willing to help us out on short notice when other shops in Oakhurst were not willing to get us back on the road within a few days. Don let us spend the night in our van in their parking lot outside the shop, and he and his staff got us back on the road in the morning. I could not have been more thankful for their help.
