Good. Crowded on weekends. Potato chip rock still draws an amazing crowd. Try to be at the summit by 7-8 if you want to enjoy a peaceful day in nature.
From Mount Woodson Trailhead. West approach from Lake Poway Park.
FOR YOUR HEALTH AND SAFETY ALWAYS BRING AT LEAST ONE HALF GALLON (2 LITERS) OF WATER PER PERSON!!! IF THE TEMPERATURE IS 80° F (26° C) OR HIGHER BRING AT LEAST 1 GALLON (4 LITERS) OF WATER PER PERSON!!! IF THE TEMPERATURE IS EXPECTED TO EXCEED 90° F (32° C) HIKING IS STRONGLY DISCOURAGED!!!

Parking is $10 per car on Weekends and Holidays.
Concession/Snack bar/Tackle shop is open Wednesday through Sunday from 6am to 4 pm. Lake Poway park and trails are open 7 days a week from 6 AM to SUNSET. Lake Poway is open for fishing and boating Wednesday through Sunday.
This is a challenging hike. Round trip time is 3 to 6 hours depending on fitness level. Hike as early as possible to avoid the heat.
