“Currently not a client at this vet office but would love to be! I spoke with someone on the phone a few days ago. I just recently got a puppy and she is due for her 2nd round of vaccinations. The receptionist politely told me that they are currently not taking any new clients due to COVID-19, which seemed reasonable. She placed me on a brief hold and she instructed me to call back in a few days when another vet would be in the office and she may be able to see my puppy! Additionally, she gave me some great advice on taking care of my puppy's diarrhea caused by her diet and dewormer. My puppy is now pooping normally and much happier! Looking forward to reaching out again in the upcoming days to hopefully get her seen for her shots!”

“I've been seeing Dr.Fry and his team for years. I value their transparency and for answering my silly questions. I have never gotten the sense that I'm being taken advantage of or upsold products or services. Taking my 8 year old lab here is easy, and they treat her well. “A competent and respectable vet service operating in San Rafael. It is commonplace that vet appointments are often very difficult to arrange in a timely matter which is not the case with this Vet Clinic. They were relatively quick to get us seen and the clinic is clean and pretty and well organized. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and willing to educate as well as treat. The only problem I have with this clinic is a problem I have with the entire vet business as a whole: for a relatively simple visit I was charged steeply. It's so expensive just to be seen.Maybe I'm wrong but I miss the days when vets tried to save their customers money by avoiding unnecessary half measures and all the nickel and dime extras that you couldn't dream would be on the bill at any point during the visit.But this is definitely a great vet service and I recommend them.”

“Dog whisperer and now cat whisperer. Dr. Marinho is a gift. It started with our Bernese Mountain Dog. He was beginning to have frequent neck pain. It was painful to watch him. He is 10.5 years old. So that is awesome for a Berner. His regular vet put him on Gabapentin daily which takes a toll on a dog’s liver/kidneys. I refused to give him daily. Since Sterling has been seeing Dr. Marinho for acupuncture and taking muscle and neck supplements, he’s like a 2 year old. He has not shown any neck/spine discomfort for months. On his walks, people ask if he’s two. Now our Ragdoll cat is 12.5 years old and got very sick. So is it hyperthyroidism, IBS, or lymphoma? So now Dr. Marinho is treating him as well. We now started acupuncture and supplements on him. She is so knowledgeable, patient, and kind. She is a delightful partner in figuring out the best options for my senior guys. I’m grateful for Dr. Marinho. Selfishly with all the kudos, I fear she’ll get even busier. Oh well, she is amazing. With thanks, Kimberly 12/29/2022”

“I have been going to San Anselmo Animal Hospital since my puppy was 8 weeks old and I have to say that I love Dr. Anderson and the staff. Everybody is super nice and really respectful of helping Simba overcome his nervousness at the vet by being super patient.”

“I have had good and also meh experiences here. Many miscommunications during covid where they would not let you in with the doctor during exams (even masked). I did not think that was a good protocol but it is hard to find any fault with covid era stuff as that was such an exception to any rules. The main front staff person, Melissa, has been really sweet, knowledgeable and straight up awesome during difficult times with my dogs so I have to give her 5 stars! But had a super uncomfortable experience with the other front staff. However, I also understand how difficult it is to employ young people who do not always have a full grasp of appropriate interactions. The 'front' is such a touchy place where you really need an A team. So I have edited my review from 3 stars to 4 stars. My experience here is definitely not five star but mainly for the interaction with the front folk other than Melissa. That is truly the sole reason I am voting with my feet and going to another vet! I feel so badly for the folks that had the 1star experiences. I know there are always two sides to every story so hoping there is more to whatever transpired in those events! The emotion of such tragedies must be awful and possibly color people's reviews. In my opinion, the doctors were good here and the prices were fair. Still going elsewhere because I never want to see those front people! But overall, they are a good place.”

“Dr. Schoengart has been very attentive to the needs of our rescue dog, Ozzie. She is careful and caring. The staff is friendly and we always feel welcome. The business has one flaw that I've noticed: sometimes the person who answers the phone (no names!) can sound overwrought and overwhelmed and can make me feel like I'm bothering them by calling! This is just a phone problem and does not reflect the Vet service, which is excellent, but it should be remedied. It's very off-putting. Other than that, we have no complaints about the care at Marin Pet Hospital. They are good, kind humans who really love animals.”

When no one could manage to see my dog due to understaffing or lack of availability (and I mean almost everywhere) East San Rafael Vet came to the rescue. My dog needed help and they provided wonderful care that was kind, gentle, and reassuring. I can't express how grateful and relieved I feel to have discovered them and am hoping to have them become my pup's new primary vet.
