Went a few weekends ago, we had a blast. Weather was perfect. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. We found some awesome fossils!! Would highly recommend to everyone!!!

I wouldn't listen to the people who say there is nothing in the shale or that the owners are rude. We had a wonderful experience today and the owners were so nice and helpful!

This sounds cool… until you are handed a box of very thin and brittle layers of shale like rock.. and for every spec is a story of what insect or leaf that might be a fossil of… for the price its not something we would do twice

We are a private fossil quarry located less than one hour west of Colorado Springs, CO. No reservation required. Pay when you arrive. Stay as long as you like. We will provide you with tools, personal instruction, and access to freshly excavated shale from the Florissant Formation which was created during the late Eocene Epoch.
