Where to start....we live in the neighborhood as finally made it in to give it a try. We had some family in from Pinellas and they wanted something close by and quick. Figured Applebee's is always busy so why not. We arrived around 12:30 and they were busy but not full. We were sat in the bar area in one of those half round large tables. The service was slow. Very slow. The good took a long time...for sandwiches and apps...too long. I ordered the new cheddar bacon chicken sandwich. The chicken breast was rubbery, chewy and had no flavor. I honestly don't know where they get their chicken and how customers can be happy with it. It was not like any chicken I've ever had. The back was old and greasy and the bun was stale. Another diner ordered the quesadilla burger. Way too soggy and the bottom tortilla fell apart. Another diner ordered the chicken tortilla soup and we had to send it back as it had no flavor. The boneless wings and wonton tacos were ok but not worth a return visit. For the value Applebee's gets low marks from us. The pieces are actually quite high for the quality of food. Some of the entrees are $17! I still cannot get over how bad the chicken breast was. I'm starting to doubt if they actually cook it in-house. We shoulda went to Ranch House across the street.

An average experience in my opinion. Came in on a late Saturday night for dinner and was pleasantly surprised at how modern and clean the inside of this location was. Didn't take long to get a table, but it appeared as if there was only one server working for the entire restaurant. Despite this, he did well to make his way over a couple of time throughout our time there. I ended up having the chicken quesadilla off the appetizer menu and overall it was filled well, but a bit greasy. Not a bad spot for late night happy hour as they do have specials if you arrive after 10pm.

They. Always. Disappoint. Honestly I'm so tired of writing bad reviews about this place I'm just not even going to embellish about my sad experience as usual. I stopped eating here a while ago but figured who the heck can screw up drinks right? Our bartender Sarah totally neglected to ask us if we enjoyed our food or drinks or even acknowledge the fact that I had taken maybe two sips and didn't even touch my drink. It was disgusting and so were their refried french fries. I'm still trying to conceive of how this place is even still open let alone has three stars. This is hands down by far the worst Applebee's in Tampa. After stating I didn't really care for my drink we were just kind of dismissed. Sarah sweetheart you really need to work on your communication skills other than with people that look like you. Also.... have a bit more common sense not to ask your patrons if they needed menu and upon handing it to them ask him if they know what they want . It comes off as pushy and intolerant almost as if your patrons are bothering you . Or maybe you don't have any common sense ?Not to mention the slow service and there were maybe 9 people in the building including the full staff . To be completely honest she didn't even look old enough to work behind the bar

We live close by. Been there twice before and thought it was mediocre at best. Went tonight after my daughter insisted on going. The food was awful, a big disappointment and a waste of money. Got the shrimp teriyaki over rice. It tasted old and reheated. the service was ok. Will NOT be going back any time soon. I liked the bar layout with all the TVs..

Just had a great meal at the Applebee's on Gandy. Our server was Jordan who was also running the bar. She did an awesome job anticipating our needs and taking such good care of us. I tried the new chicken sandwich with bacon and cheese and boy was it delicious. My friend had the triple bacon burger and it was delicious also! My green beans on the side were yummy! We also had that wonton chicken tacos for an appetizer. They were perfect!
