With exposed beams, warm colors and a double-sided stacked-stone fireplace, this large, open restaurant evokes a rustic feel. The neighborhood venue also offers a bar-meeting spot and outdoor dining space, and an 80-seat private room. Appetizers range from spring rolls and crab cakes to spinach tortilla dip. Hot crab dip is a rich, hefty dish that will abate your appetite rather than stimulate it. Thai chicken skewers grilled and served on greens with miso dressing could make a light supper dish. So could the pizzas. Among the seafood offerings are grouper in lemon-wine sauce, seared ahi and a spice-glazed salmon. Steaks include a steak Oscar, a 14-ounce New York strip, an 8- or ten-ounce filet mignon, steak au poivre and prime rib. There are also sandwiches and salads. Desserts are sinful: apple cobbler with caramel sauce sets the pace. The wine list is lengthy and varied, with a section for red wines and another for white wines to present unusual choices, and guests may order tasting portions (half-glass pours).
