It was so loud and hard to hear the person across the table from me.The food was excellent. The service as well. But my ears were ringing when I left.

This place is amazing. Cozy/cute atmosphere and the food, drink, service…all amazing. This place punches above its weight. I’ve been to much (much) pricier restaurants and have not had food or drinks anywhere near as fantastic as what I had here.

Very noisy but otherwise a gem in the neighborhood.
About the restaurant and décor: This sibling of the restaurant Gather is like a warm Chicago hug. A bustling bar leads to two dining rooms fitted with roomy booths, lime-washed walls, two tops, hanging plants and a greenhouse patio, which take design notes from the German-English agricultural community present in 19th century Lincoln Square.Likes: Elevated neighborhood fare; warm service.Dislikes: Flatbread was underwhelming.Food & Drinks: What's the philosophy behind this restaurant? Quality ingredients and elevated execution. Chef Ken Carter delivers the essence of the earth with lighter dishes such as baked mussels, Ancient Grains salad with freekah, pomelo, sherry gastrique and rosemary crumble and Korean style chicken wings with tamarind glaze, and heavier items like strip loin and whole roasted chicken. Flatbreads are built for sharing; the artichoke version with butternut squash purée, arugula, Parmigiano and toasted pumpkin seed sports a slightly charred note. A glass of Albariño is a dry and pleasant companion to the lighter flavors on the menu. Finish simply with a warm skillet cookie or carrot cake. Attentive servers weave about with glasses of wine and stylish platters of the aforementioned flatbreads, pasta and larger entrées.
