“Our daughter attended pre school from 2018 September till February 2019. We had to take her out of preschool as our job took us to Miami, FL. We were also a part of Trinity Lutheran Church and decided to put our kid in preschool. Our daughter attended the Tuesday-Thursday session from 9 till 11:30 AM and she absolutely loved it. While joining, we found out that we had to rely on rides from other parents going to school as my wife's driving license was put on hold due to visa restrictions. We received tremendous support from a couple of parents and they helped as much as they could. When our daughter joined the next preschool in Miami, she couldn't adjust for a few initial weeks with the new style of teaching but now she's doing well. Overall, our experience was great with Trinity Preschool and with the Trinity Lutheran church.”

“St. John Lutheran Church is a bastion of orthodoxy and confessionalism in the Lutheran Church. To my knowledge, this is the only Missouri Synod parish that offers daily Mass. Receiving the Lord's gifts is the best way to begin the day, and the beauty of High Mass here is matched by few in the LCMS. The community here is wholly oriented around the Great Commandment of Matthew 22: "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. . . . Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself" (vv. 37, 39). This is truly a parish, pastors and laity alike, that cares about your soul.”

Tom Bortheroyd used money solely dedicated for the chapel use, then used some of that money for the roof, tried to hide that he did that, and tried to justify it by saying the chapel didn't warrant the money because there wasn't enough people going there, while also trying to stop people from going there. The church is probably better off since his death, I wish this person that I received my first communion from eternal peace”

I know because I just lost Henry to Covid-19 and the caring warmth pouring out from church members has helped sustain me during my hours of grief. Both Henry and I were active members of the church. The church members recognize "We are the church!" Always there for each other. Always seeking and finding God's grace within its walls and being uplifted by each. It is through involvement that one realizes they are gaining more than one could give. It is through being a St. John Lutheran Church member in Darien that we recognize Jesus working through its members. “If you’re looking for a Spirit-led, Bible-based, open arms kind of church (and why wouldn’t you be?!), check out this church plant(?). It’s of course part of a larger NFC network, but seemed focused on being a blessing to the Villa Park community. It’s meeting in the basement of another church so if you’re looking for deluxe accommodations, this isn’t it. But if you’re looking for “salt of the Earth” kind of people, this is a church to check out.”
