Neat place to walk around. I had a day to fill before some meetings and thought I would check it out.

Wasted trip from Duson to walk the trails. Bridge is broken and down about 5 mins walking. Back Rd closed and can't get to lake that way more. Lady walked out office could have told us the trail bridges were broke and can't walk trails.

Absolutely loved our driving tour around Jungle Gardens aided by the recommended app. Gorgeous place filled with botanical experiments and lovely planned gardens and spaces. Learning about the McIlhenny family and their environmental efforts really made this tour!Dog-friendliness: There are gators so careful with your pets.

From Cypress Island Preserve
The visitor center is open Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 4pm. The levee trail, picnic pavilion, and visitor center grounds are open daily during daylight hours. Please note that Rookery Rd. is closed starting at John D. Hebert Rd. (near the Lake Martin boat launch) to Prairie Hwy. (near the levee trail entrance). Please give us a call if you have questions or need to verify visitor center hours.
