“Yesterday I had to say goodbye to my little boy. I layed down with him on the floor at DAH for his last hours sobbing that the time had come. I’ve been a client at DAH for 25 years. 3 out of my 5 dogs have had their last moments there as well as the 5 of them getting routine care. Over the last year I have spent a lot of time there. Always greeted with excitement and love by the receptionists, always greeted with kindness and professionalism by the vet technicians when in the exams rooms, and always given wonderful thorough and thoughtful care by the Drs (especially Dr. Anderson). But, it isn’t just those moments that stand out… it’s the little ones… the ones when I am waiting for my pups to come back into the exam rooms… when I hear the staff traveling back and forth doing there work out back… hearing them interact with every animal they are caring for, these people are SPECIAL! Their jobs are not easy… they do it because they love animals and the people who love animals… life isn’t perfect… and none of us are… but, I wouldn’t want another team of people caring for my four legged fur family. I am beyond grateful to each and every staff member. I just got off the phone with Lois who called to check in. You are all angels on earth!”

“My mom's cat passed away and called same day to bring Tyson in. Picked up the cremation box of which was beautiful. The certificate was so beautiful too. Thank you for helping in such a very sad time. Thank you for sending him off to the rainbow Bridge and his last ride home to my mom and his mom. She was so relieved to have him home. She's in senior housing so this was very traumatic and wasn't called til the day before we were bringing him in but he had passed at 4am. I'm 2 hrs away one way and I was a wreck. He had been indoors and not seen since a kitten at the vets which complicated things big time. It was a sad situation. I'm happy he's not suffering anymore and is at rest. Thank you.”

“I have numerous animals that Dr. DiBoot cares for. The hospital does charge first time clients a non refundable deposit to secure the appointment however, that is credited towards the first visit. Totally understandable! All of my animals have been treated with gentleness and with great detail. Dr. DiBoot strives to ensure each animal is healthy and comfortable. She is one of the most compassionate vets I have met. If you want a family feeling practice, this is it.”

During the first visit, the Doctor spent over forty minutes talking to me about ny cat and learning all about his history. She also helped me solve a few behavioral issues he was having. He needs routine bloodwork due to a medication he is on. Previously, in another state, the Vet always had to fully sedate him to draw blood. Today, they were able to do it without it! I am so thankful for their patience and expertise. And shout-out to the Office Manager who took the time to schedule an appointment that works for us. She also made herself available to be the phlebotomist since she is experienced with challenging cats! You guys are the best.”

“Over the years my family and I have always brought or cats to Hawthorne animal in Salem. The facility is clean and open. My cats see Dr. Reilly and we love her! She's excellent with the cats, especially my anxious boy. The staff are all very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. When you call on the phone you maybe connected with someone at Atlantic Vet in Marblehead, they are partnered together, so the staff will make sure you get the info you need. My boy cat has an auto ship prescription with them and it's very convenient for us. The pricing here is reasonable compared to others in the area for the level of care you receive, they are very thorough! The parking lot here can be a bit tricky and tight but there is parking and it's easy to get to off of canal Street in Salem. We are very happy being patients here, definitely reccomed if you are looking for a new vet!”

“I have a very anxious pup. I’ve had the worst luck finding a doctor who I felt truly cared about my dog and what his behavioral issues are, usually it’s always docs prescribing meds. Dr.Welsh and her staff were out of this world, they took over two hours with my dog, gaining trust and observing him and never forced him to the back to do any kind of treatment (though I gave them permission because he was refusing nail trim). I really have no words for all the staff here, I can’t wait to see how much Blue grows with this kind of care and treatment. He allowed them to touch him, trim his nails and he’s never done that before. We got SO much information from just our first visit, everything was explained before adding to his treatment, you can tell how much they love animals. I will be bringing my other pup for services as well 🩷”

Dr. Callahan and his staff have been so amazing, kind, and patient with me through this whole situation. They have all gone above and beyond for Jaxon. They show so much care and love for both him and I. When your fur baby is sick, it can be very scary.
