“Dr. Thal, his staff and the wonderful facilities are top notch!!! We have 2Miniature donkeys and Dr Thal saved our donkey because he had a 30 lb food impacting in his gut! Dr thal was able to get the impaction to pass and within a few days our donkey was back to his old self! We can’t say enough about Dr., Thal, and everybody at his facility! They reacted very fast to the emergency and kept us in the know the whole 4 days of recovery! Thank you, Dr. Thal, and staff. Y’all are great!”

“Been coming back here again after using another local vet for a while. Vet care in this town has gone down hill hard recently and just having terrible experiences. So gave Smith a second shot since I used to really like these guys, and have always really appreciated how I could just walk in there when I needed to. My two recent experiences here have just been stellar. Great docs. Great assistants. Great receptionists, too! Just took my dog in for an infected lump that really needed to be seen, and couldn't have been happier or more impressed. They are super busy, like all the other vets in town, but somehow managed to not compromise great customer care. UNLIKE everywhere else I have tried. Yes, I tried to leave Smith Vet but so glad I decided to go back. My dog is happy too! I know where I'm going in future.”

“Dr. Kelly is a a gifted oncologist - a magician, really. My beloved dog Midge has fought skin cancer for 6 years, since the age of 5. In the past couple of years, the mast cell tumors started erupting with increasing frequency and size. After multiple, futile surgeries at other clinics, it became a frustrating and expensive game of whack-a-mole, with one new tumor replacing the other. I was sure Midge would be gone in a year, especially when tumors starting popping up in difficult-to-operate areas like behind the eyes and along her jawline - dangerously close to lymph glands.That was 9 months ago and Midge is not only cancer-free, but stronger and more energetic than before the treatments at VCC. Dr. Kelly used a mix of Eastern and Western medicine to find the right cocktail for my Midge, always being careful NOT to make her feel worse with side effects. She and her entire staff are compassionate, dedicated professionals who were just as attuned to my fears as to my dog's. On top of being very experienced, Dr. Kelly is super well-informed about the latest protocols and always communicates clearly and patiently in a way that eliminates the mystery and fear. But most importantly Midge is going stronger than ever and shows no sign of slowing down. I've known others who've had the same miraculous experience with Dr. Kelly at VCC, including the coworker who referred me to her. Santa Fe is lucky to have her!”

“The doctors and staff here are really patient and really kind. My dog had an unusual and extreme allergic reaction to a vaccine she was given, and the vets made sure to call with frequent check-ins and updates. There were a few follow-up visits that I wasn't charged for, which was thoughtful and a relief. One of the vets even reached out to the pharmaceutical company that made the vaccine and was able to get part of my $5k+ in vet bills reimbursed, which was unexpected and so, so helpful considering my otherwise healthy dog had such an adverse, terrifying reaction. I'm still waiting on the company, Zoetis, to get back to me about covering the rest of my dog's hospitalization and medication bills, but VCA has done all they can during the process and has been extremely thoughtful and engaged during this emotional, distressing time.”
