Just Cats understood this was an emergency that could not wait until the end of next month. They saw her the same day and were extra gentle as she was stressed. After a thorough exam and blood work she received the necessary medications needed and is on the mend. They explained in detail how to give her her meds and answered every question. “Service was prompt and courteous. This was the first time I met with new veterinary staff, Dr. Natasja DeFiores, who was kind and performed a thorough examination on my cats. One of them is on chronic medication, and she had lab work drawn at the appointment, on Friday. Dr. Natasja (her choice, rather her last name, I think to clarify from her husband, the other vet in the practice, with the same last name) messaged me the next day, Saturday, to let me know that my cat's bloodwork was looking good. I much appreciated the timely follow up and reassuring news. My only complaints are two small things that the office likely has a little control over. Typically I am able to obtain 100 of my cats pills for a prescription, which gets me through almost a year. However, because of lack of availability in the medication, they were only able to give me 30. I know there are medication shortages everywhere, including in human medicine, so I do not fault the practice for this problem. The other thing is that the office now appears very sterile. There is almost nothing on the white walls, where they used to be cute pictures of clients' pets, cat and dog magazines, and a warm feeling of welcome. Having visited this practice for more than 20 years, my guess is that this has to do with the fact that it is now part of a larger corporation, which may not value that community feeling the office used to have. Nonetheless, this is not a reflection on the vets themselves or the thorough care they provide.”

“If you are reading this review, you most likely have a pet. The word "pet" minimizes the relationship, the bond you have established with this, albeit furry member of your family. VCA Shaker acknowledges their patients by extending a tender approach in their care. My late chihuahua, a rescue, gave us joy for seventeen years. She survived the early onset of a heart condition because the staff of VCA Shaker monitored her condition and provided treatment that would ensure a quality of life for her remaining days. After she crossed the rainbow, Shaker sent condolences, a card signed by every member of the staff who had experienced an exchange with our "fur girl." That makes VCA Shaker more than a business (by the way it is owned by Mars - yup the candy maker) it's a pet sanctuary.”

“We started in November with emergency care for my cat. Found out she had E-Coli and chronic renal failure. Two other vets hadn’t diagnosed this and it was clear on her lab work done a year ago. Had I known this I would have put her down. It was pricy treatment but she came back to us and only lasted 3 more months. Once again we went back here to put her down since it was time. They were very compassionate and kind and put us in a grieving room vs an exam room. The price was surprisingly fair considering they are an emergency vet. Thank you Drs Rogers, Gavin, staff, and the Dr that put her down. I was too upset to remember. It was a very peaceful passing and I’ll never forget the excellent care we received. Thank you so much!!! Since they are open 24/7 it was nice to know we could go anytime we needed to. I hope we don’t need emergency care in the near future, but when we do I will only go here!!!”
