I needed a pipe for under my sink but my old pipe had been sawed down; because I didn’t know how to saw it down myself, one of the clerks offered to saw it in the back. “This hardware store is great place. It reminds me of the hardware stores that used to be around before Home Depot and Lowes. It's a much bigger than the old stores, but that's because it carries a lot of inventory and has to compete in some sense. What I particularly like is the hardware section. As someone who does a whole lot of repairing and fabrication, I often need certain bolts, screws, fasteners, and they have a great assortment. They are in similar organized self serve pull out draws like you find at the big box stores, but there is a huge difference. They have stock! This stores hardware drawers are filled and they have a variety of stainless, chrome, galvanized, black,etc, that makes it enjoyable to know your project is going to get done how you planned.”
“I am truly grateful for the help Nick gave me. I called in at 4:55 closing time is 5 o’clock. Nick was empathetic towards my situation, I had no heat.
He gathered the parts that I needed to correct my problem . He left them outside the store so I could pick them up and not go through the night without any heat. He also offered me his personal cell phone and encouraged me to call him , and he would walk me through the repair.
This was truly a unique experience that will stay with me for a long time. Nobody does business like these people , I will never go to another plumbing supply. I highly recommend Central Islip Plumbing Supply !!”

“So needed a new front door lock, went to depot first and received 0 help trying to track down the correct lock, when I figured it out I couldn’t get keys and I don’t like the self service machine, now headed to Lowe’s in lake grove, fretted as I walk in this employee asked what I needed then walked me straight to the locks, he made 4 extra keys and tested them onsite… that’s what service is about…”
“Was looking to purchase a certain small parts organizer bin which happened to be up in the overhead by the organizers. Walked the entire store and couldnt find a floor employee until i got over to garden. A nice older gentleman was able to help and led me to Jillian. She was quick to help and get me what i needed. The 5 stars are not for the store but solely on her performance of helping me out.”

“I’ve been to this Home Depot on many occasions. Most of the time they are well-stocked, have reasonable prices, and all the equipment that I need. Most of the staff are extremely kind welcoming and helpful. There have been occasions when I’ve encountered staff that don’t know what they are doing, and are unable to help, but the majority of the time the staff are helpful. The one complaint I have,, which is a consistent problem, are their shopping carts. They ate In the worst possible condition. They are extremely difficult to push and manipulate. With muscle strength limited due to illness, this makes my trip to Home Depot extremely difficult. Even those who are healthy would find these carts a challenge. I don’t think it would take too much to replace these cards with new ones. hopefully Home Depot will see this review and take some action! It Is my favorite store after all.
Update on 4/2/26 I recently visited Home depot and discovered they have new shopping carts!! I am so thankful! Now I can shop without pain and difficulty. Great job Home Depot!”
