“A very warm welcome it's just the beginning of this immaculately clean Athletic Facility. It is filled with many warm and professional people that staff this great complex. I've been in gyms and fitness centers all over the world and this place is beautiful because it's so clean. It has much to offer families and little ones. It has a nice size gym for those who like that kind of exercise. It has a magnificent pool with lifeguards and a warmer pool for older people and it's bright filled with sunlight. The locker rooms are spotless. There's even coffee for the morning and a place to lounge and relax and just sit back and relax. It would be great if every community could have something like this but unfortunately that's not the case. I highly recommend this institution to the people of Tarrytown and neighboring places. I had an excellent tour and I'm going to become a member because I see the due diligence. That is most important. It's the workers that make a facility great not just the facility on its own. This well-run complex is a winner. If you're looking for some serenity in a peaceful, family environment, this place is highly recommended.”

Miss Christa’s class is just the best She is the kind of teacher that you want for your kids, Someone that you can see and feel That really cares for the children and you can see it through their growth. My daughter has learned so much. She is just three years old and Sometimes I’m amazed myself with the things that she learns at school. She loves to school so much that some weekends she begs to go back to school. They have a schedule calendar every month with activities and fun things to do. They keep you updated throughout the day about what your child is doing, which is great and it gives you a really good peace of mind. overall just a nice place for the kids to be the area is really quiet and safe. The playground is very spacious which I think it’s a great thing so the kids can run around safely. Would 100% recommend this school.”

“My 3 children just spent their first summer at Mohawk Day Camp and they can’t wait to go back next summer. Sending them there was, without a doubt, one of the best decisions I’ve made as a parent. After my 10-year-old daughter’s challenging school year dealing with bullies, she made so many new friends at camp that she adored and felt comfortable trying new things with (rock wall climbing, the flying squirrel, and the high ropes course just to name a few). Her self-confidence skyrocketed and she can’t wait to add on the 1-week sleep-away option that’s offered by the camp next summer so she can go away with all of her new camp friends. She also loved the ability to build her own weekly schedule by selecting activities that she was the most interested in for her choice and elective periods. It definitely made her feel more independent and “like an adult” as she says, being able to spend more time doing the activities that she loves. My 6-year-old son who had no interest in sports prior to camp found his love for tennis (which we never would have thought of trying on our own) and he was so excited to work towards reaching new swimming levels. He would come home grinning from ear-to-ear each time he received his light-up card showing that he moved up. My son can also be very emotional at times and Amanda was a miracle worker. She found the best ways to help my son regulate how he was feeling and keep the fun going. My 3-year-old daughter began camp with a speech delay and ended camp talking non-stop despite her lapse in services over the summer. She came home singing so many cute songs (she’s still singing the watermelon song on a daily basis), and was so excited to tell me about what she did at camp that it definitely motivated her to try harder to formulate full sentences. And I know that my youngest is very strong-willed and can be very stubborn at times but her counselors were so patient with her all summer long. Not only was I receiving daily pics via the Mohawk App, but Valerin always made sure to communicate how my daughter’s day went which made me feel much more comfortable with her being there for full days at such a young age. Valerin also never gave up when my daughter refused instructional swim and would only participate during recreational (she was so used to just playing in pools prior to camp and definitely put up a fight at first). Valerin had the whole group cheering my daughter on and getting her excited to practice different swimming skills. The day she received her first moving up card, I actually found her hugging it in her sleep after she went to bed which was the cutest thing. She was so proud of herself.

Bottom line, if you want the absolute best summer experience for your child then send them to Mohawk! Between the endless daily activities, the awesome special events, and the phenomenal staff, your kids will have the time of their life! I couldn’t be happier with my decision to send my kids there this summer and they all can't wait to go back.”

“We started our son at Children’s Corner on Westchester Ave when he was 6 months old. After considering several child care options, we quickly felt we made the correct choice with how great the infant teachers were. Miss Anastasia and Nancy remained his favorite teachers even as he progressed out of the infant room. Aliya'h and Cookie run the center and are great with communication. We had to relocate our son to a different center due to a move, but we kept him enrolled at a different Children’s Corner location due to the positive experience at Westchester Ave. As good of a total value as you’ll find in the area.”

Our child loves going to school and is safe, having fun, socializing with other kids and is beyond well taken care of - we've been going since 5 months old! “My daughter has been going to Mindful Montessori since she was 2.5 yrs old. It is a true Montessori school with qualified teachers, we love their nurturing care for the children and dedication. My daughter learned to read at 3.5 and do small addition due to their Montessori approach. The children are exposed to math, languages, geography, biology etc. Every spring, they get to see the life cycle of ducks or chicks. From the egg in the incubator, to the chick coming out of the egg and then caring for the chick. Same for the life cycle of the butterfly, so its not only in books and toys/material, but real life. This is the way you get young minds to learn and be engaged. Every time I go inside the school to read or volunteer for an event, I am in awe of how calm, clean and happy the classroom is. My daughter loves going to school and told me that she loves Mindful Montessori because the teachers hug them and tell them they love them, to me this is the best review any school can get. We love the school and are looking forward to our daughter's 3rd year there.”

“I used to work here as a TA and it's probably the best job i had! It makes a difference when you love what you do and love the people you work with. It's a small school and only known through word of mouth so if you are in the area, like to look at reviews first but unsure, I promise it’s worth to check out. If you looking for a traditional mixed with Montessori-style based teaching then this might be the right fit for your child. The teachers, Ms. Jeannie and Ms. Lisa are passionate at what they do! They treat every child like their own and honestly i could go on and on.”

“Our son is the second child that has attended The Little Red because we were so impressed with Anna a few years ago when our daughter was there. His verbal, behavioral and social skills have advanced incredibly since September. He is always talking about his friends, Mrs. M/Ms. Noelle and all of the things he has done that day. Anna has a different weekly theme which includes stories, arts and crafts, sensory bin, etc. The children not only work on their communication and behavioral skills, but also gross and fine motor skills as well. The class size is small with 6 children per 2 adults which allows the children to connect with each other and enhance their learning. Anna is also wonderful with potty training and will give advice on any issues/concerns you may have with your childs learning/behavior. We are sad that the school year is coming to an end because it means that our family’s time is up with Anna. I would not hesitate recommending TLR to anyone as it is a caring and enriching environment for your child.”

“Our Goddard Decision: The Journey & the gift that keeps on giving………We have been part of the Goddard family since 2018. After many months of interviews and endless driving around looking at daycare facilities we encountered The Goddard school through some additional research. The initial welcome, info sharing and overall warmth of the front office staff was, quite frankly, a relief!!. A guided tour of the classrooms and introductions to potential teachers overwhelmingly solidified that this place was something special! We enrolled our daughter just before her 2nd birthday.As a parent it’s hard to leave your children with new people in places you don’t really know, but Goddard made it easy! From day one we started what was to be an amazing journey for both our daughters and son. All of the teachers and administrative staff took the time and care in getting to know us and more importantly, our family.In 2021, we enrolled our youngest daughter at 6 months old. There is nowhere else in the world we could imagine sending our infant! Knowing we were sending our baby to Goddard and that she would be in amazing hands, made a typically stressful transition period much easier.One of the biggest testaments we can offer is how the staff conducted themselves during Covid. The stress of that time was immense and when it was time to go back to school, there were even more questions and uncertainties. From the Director down, the empathy, understanding, and guidance around all the requirements was outstanding. The transparency and visibility was never in question, even when some hard questions were asked. This was a solidification to us on making the best choice we could have done for our children.Now, our older daughter, who is in 2nd grade, goes back to Goddard for camp! It truly feels like the Goddard School has become an extension of our family. We truly can’t say enough great things about the staff and the facility!!”

“I love that this is a house, the class rooms feel like living rooms. They have many playgrounds outside and the kids go out two or three times a day, weather depending. In the summer they play with water outside. My child loves it, our second one will go there, too. It was recommended by my neighbors who bring their second one there. One complaint is that they use disposable plastic ware for food and drinks. Sadly this is normal in this country and is usually difficult to fix due to lack of space, this is why I am understanding for their situation and do not subtract a star ;)”
