“We have two children at The Academy of Asheville and have been so pleased with this school. The teachers go above and beyond to help prepare our kids for kindergarten and the leadership (Jenny & Kim) do a wonderful job of maintaining a stable, predictable, clean, and high quality education environment. I would highly recommend this school.”

“My family and I have been looking all over Asheville and Candler for a reliable and safe place for our 2 yr old to attend. With current events of COVID and the devastation of Helene, childcare has been hard to find and waiting lists are ginormous!
With all of that being said, we have been on a waiting list with Childcare Network for a while now and we had the absolute pleasure of meeting Danielle Barnett at the location on Sardis Rd. She’s the type of person you want your child to be taken care of by! She’s sweet with the kids, knowledgeable of her work and others that work for her and the type of leader that a childcare needs. She also has a family of her own and knows the ups and downs that come along with different behaviors with different children.
I know our child will grow exponentially with the care and guidance shown by Danielle Barnett and the others at Childcare Network!”

“We switched our son over to BRMS when he was 2 years old. Now he is 4, and our 2 year old daughter will be starting there in August! Sadly, our kids are at daycare more hours than they are awake at home with us during the week, so it was important for us to find a community and caregivers that feel like an extension of our home. That’s what we have found in Mrs. Gayle, the other caregivers, the sweet school house and school yard and all the other families at BRMS. Our son comes home happy and is excited to be dropped off in the mornings, and he misses his teachers and friends when he’s not there. This truly is a special place!”

“I wanted to share my somewhat complex, but hopefully meaningful, review of Kiddie Academy of Asheville for some time.

Our daughter attended from infancy until she began Kindergarten (which has been several years ago now), and her experience was truly wonderful. She formed strong friendships, gained confidence, and was consistently supported by caring teachers and administrators. Even now, she still keeps in touch with friends she made there, which speaks volumes about the environment and relationships fostered during her time.

Our experience with our son has been more complex, and for context, he attended Kiddie Academy from 1-year-old (only because the infant class was closed for a while!) until the time he was about 4-years-old. He is a kind, intelligent, albeit energetic child who sometimes needs a little more support. Like many families in similar situations, we’ve found that the private daycare and Pre-K space can be challenging to navigate. Not all programs are equipped—or willing—to provide the additional support that some children require, which can leave families feeling discouraged.

To their credit, Kiddie Academy did make a genuine effort to work with us and support our son. They were responsive, communicative, and even suggested additional resources to help meet his needs. It was clear that they take these challenges seriously and are trying to grow in how they support children with different learning and behavioral profiles.

At the same time, our experience highlights a broader gap in the daycare and Pre-K system—particularly when it comes to accommodating children who may not fit the typical mold. I hope that by sharing this, more awareness can be brought to the need for inclusive, adaptable early childhood programs.

Overall, we’re grateful for the positive impact this center had on our daughter and for the effort and care shown toward our son. Hopefully this review is helpful for some. For families with neurodivergent children, it may be worth having open conversations with any center about the level of support they can provide and what resources are available.”

“My 16month old son has gone to Childcare Network since he was 3 months old. First the Fairview location and now Weaverville. There were some staffing issues while the previous assistant director was there with, at the time, no director over the daycare. Things got a little out of control for a while with many days of me missing work bc they couldn't take my child but it was out of their hands when staff would call out and I just have to say, since Mary has taken over as Director and Misty as Assistant Director, things have done a complete turnaround. They have taken my toddler everyday. Even when they have been short staffed they have had a spot for him. They also all love him so much and shower him with attention , affection, and knowledge. He wakes up talking about them and wanting to see them every morning. It is so nice to feel so comfortable and safe when you are dropping your literal heart off at daycare and leaving it in someone else's hands. And Mary, Misty, Gabby, Kaitlyn, and the rest of the teachers there have achieved that. Kudos to them for what they do! And thank you for loving my child like your own!”
