Any trip to the Outer Banks, has to include a visit of this quaint little town. There is a great walking tour, and a lot of grand old houses and a church to see. There is a real comfortable feeling here, and a sense of history.

Small, quaint town. Was the first capital of NC until the capital was moved to New Bern. People are friendly. Historical Sites and homes. Eating out in the downtown area is a little pricey. Friendly people, although we saw a very few protesters wanting to take down a statue of course. (Eye roll). Otherwise worth a quick...

My husband, our 8 month old, and I went on the guided tour of the courthouse, lighthouse, and Iredell House and it was a lot of fun and very informative. Our guide, Lucas, was very pleasant and knowledgeable. It is well worth the $5 per adult.

Historic Edenton is a North Carolina State Historic Site that offers tours of many of Edenton’s premier historic sites. Historic Edenton manages the 1800/1827 James Iredell House, the 1767 Chowan County Courthouse, and the 1886 Roanoke River Lighthouse.
