The post office converted to a used bookstore makes an engaging atmosphere. The coffee and pastries are better fare than expected to or the area, and the service is friendly and charming.

Completely Excellent. Laid backplace with great coffee and sandwiches. I'm obsessed with the lox bagley. Pick up a $1 or $2 book while your there.
The Roast Office Coffee Shop is centrally located in downtown Pinehurst, NC. We serve our local community with a hot cup of coffee or tea with a smile. Have a seat to enjoy breakfast or small lunch. Take note of this old work era building which was once the main Post Office for the Village of Pinehurst. The coffee shop is actually the part of building where you spoke with the post master and picked up your mail: This is how we came up with the name for the coffee shop.
For those new in town or visiting you also might find a great used hard back book to purchase for a read. This helps our local library which is not funded by the government but our citizens and local volunteers.
