“Overall excellent. Doug is excellent and his staff do a good job. They were always responsive. We would use them again without a doubt. One thing that could be improved is communication between staff. We would address an issue with one member of the team and have another call to work on it when it was already finished. “There are far too many wonderful things I can say about Will. As a first-time buyer, it was such a relief to work with someone with such a good sense of humor, heart, and professionalism. He believed that my partner and I would buy our first home through an FHA loan more than we did! Not only was Will knowledgeable, tenacious, and patient, he was also hands-on. There were a few repairs needed on our new home before it would finance. Will spent a day with my partner and me, painting and working without complaint. After trying to buy a home in Portland and struggling to feel heard by agents as a first-time homebuyer, Will was a breath of fresh air. “In the last 7 years I have logged 12 real estate transactions in five different cities, utilizing the services of 8 different agents. TY MURDOCK is only one of two realtors I hired a second time for a subsequent sale/purchase. Ty is THE BEST. What makes for a great realtor? What I've learned is that first and foremost your agent needs to be your ADVOCATE. They need to be "for you." This may seem obvious and it is in the sense that the vast majority know how to appear to act on your behalf before they're hired. The real question is: how much do they care about protecting your best interests when it doesn't impact their own? Or when it impacts them "negatively" (more work!) Ty had my back from beginning to end, tirelessly helping with a myriad different contractors as we prepared to sell a home this year. Then more work researching the viability of selling a separate tax lot separately. Even if it has been viable (it was not) the commission on selling that second lot would have been modest. But that didn't stop Ty from wanting to make sure all the angles had been exhausted. The same with the negotiations. Most agents, I've found, will only reluctantly or not at all rally behind efforts to leave no money on the table. Why? Because whether you, the seller, make an additional $10K or $20K, for example, will not result in a significant commission bump for them. What they most desire is a quick and easy process, without a lot of back and forth and sweating the details. I sweat the details (!) And Ty Murdock not only sweated it out with me, he respected me for it. I don't know what the future holds real estate wise in Southern Oregon, but you can be sure that Ty will be involved when we next sell or buy a property.”
