“This is the best vet office I’ve ever been to BY FAR. I am SO thrilled we found Wildwood! The whole staff is amazing, but Dr. Larson has been absolutely fantastic with my two terriers. Took the time to introduce and help them be more comfortable. And actually diagnosed an ear problem one has had for years that no other vet has done anything about, no matter how often I brought it up! My other dog is EXTREMELY anxious and fearful because of a very traumatic past, and she doesn’t let anyone but me touch her, let alone get near her. Our last vet visit elsewhere was a muzzled, thrashing, snarling experience that wrecked her for days. And I prepared them for that. But Dr. Larson is clearly some kind of dog wizard because my girl was totally still the entire time. He actually took time to be calmly in the room with her first instead of rushing us through the process, which made a world of difference. Of course she was still scared and needed tight holding, but I shed a tear because this experience was an absolute MIRACLE for us!! I didn’t think a smooth vet visit was something we would ever experience! Plus she was also totally fine when we got home - no lingering fear or anxiety. I’m honestly still in shock of how incredibly this visit went. I am so immensely impressed by and grateful for this team - I am a forever client!”

“I took my elderly cat in for her first appointment here today and I am so happy I did. The staff was cordial and Dr. Castle was very professional and helpful. The last vet my cat went to was not nearly as helpful and seemed to be more concerned with money than care of the animals, even going so far as to say they may not be the cheapest, but I should remember that you get what you pay for. While I understand that to an extent, I believe that was not the case with our now ex-vet clinic. I would happily pay the prices of the previous clinic for the care from this one. Portland Animal Clinic was also able to give me her medicine right away unlike the other vet who sent me to a specialty pharmacy that was quite a ways away. I am ecstatic to continue my best friend's care with Portland Animal Clinic and Dr. Castle.”

“I moved to Portland a couple of years ago and did tons of research before choosing a vet for my senior cat, Sir Dudess Louise VonLichtenstein. I landed at Buckman Veterinary Clinic based on the glowing reviews. They are certainly not the cheapest vet in town, but I truly believe in my heart that you get what you pay for. I would go hungry before taking my baby to a different vet. Everyone on their staff is kind, caring, and a joy to interact with. Dr. Johnson is an angel, and Em is incredibly gentle and patient with my dramatic little Dude. Their responsiveness and follow-ups are impeccable, and they explain everything in so much detail that I never have follow-up questions. I have been a pet parent for over 20 years, and this is by far the best veterinary practice I have ever visited. Do not let the few negative reviews scare you away. If you want the best care for your fur babies, this is the place to go.”

“My pup is a breed that notoriously hates the vet, but she LOVES Peninsula. She had her spay last week with Dr. Weinstein and I couldn’t be more pleased with how it went. When we went to pick her up, we were expecting her to be groggy and uncomfortable, but she was her same old curious, playful, loving self. She was affectionate to the staff after surgery, which goes to show how well they treated her at all stages of the procedure. Her incision looked absolutely meticulous - a clean, centered line even on day 1! I have the utmost confidence in this clinic and highly recommend them.”

“I cannot say enough positive things about this clinic. After many poor experiences and inappropriate diagnostics elsewhere -- Dr. Shuler (and his assistant Mary) really treat your pet as their own. Further, the team knows how to give multiple financial options and doesn't fuss when wanting scripts sent to Costco. Pet care is complicated and I appreciate their attention to detail, non-judgmental stance, following through when they say they will, and their calm and thorough approach to my boys needs. Even when I'm losing my mind days before his surgery -- they deal with me with such grace and compassion. It's important to note that this practice is actually locally owned. It's not owned by private equity or otherwise. The person in charge is... Dr. Shuler. This was important to us in the care of our pets.”

“I can’t say enough wonderful things about Two Rivers Veterinary Clinic. I first brought my old lady kitty to them when she was having some health issues, and from the very beginning, I felt like she was receiving such thoughtful, holistic care. As we continued treating a skin infection and seeing them regularly, we unexpectedly discovered that she had an aggressive cancer. Everything happened so quickly, and the entire team was incredibly compassionate and supportive throughout the process. They made time for me even when they were already booked, and when it came time to say goodbye, they never made me feel rushed. They stayed with me and gave me the time I needed to say goodbye to my girl. What touched me most was what happened afterward. The entire office signed a sympathy card with their own personal notes, and they even had a local flower company deliver flowers to me with another heartfelt note. That level of kindness and compassion meant more to me than I can express. Dr. Andrea was my veterinarian, and she was truly exceptional. I felt that she genuinely cared about my cat and about me throughout an incredibly difficult time. I will be a Two Rivers client for as long as I have pets, no matter how far I have to drive. In fact, I’m bringing my newest addition to them today, and I couldn’t feel more comfortable putting her care in their hands. Thank you, Two Rivers, for treating my girl with such love and for taking such good care of both of us.”

“We moved to Cathedral a few years ago on the recommendation of a friend. We've seen several of their veterinarians and techs in that time. There's so much positive to say about our care at Cathedral. We mostly see Dr. Jenny - she's the best. She makes such a fuss over our pets, which I'm sure she does with all the dogs and cats but it makes us feel special. We've had some ups and downs with our pets over the years and she's always steered us in the right direction. Very grateful to have her. We also love the techs. We've worked with MJ most recently when our kitten was sick and MJ just seems so delighted to see her. I think they might love our pets more than we do LOL. I was in the clinic last week and one of the front desk staff, Libby, really likes dog. She drew the cutest picture on a sticky note that was an absolute likeness of our girl. It's now framed in our house. Libby also had a magic trick a few visits ago to get our dog to stop crying in the waiting room; she gave her a little bit of spray cheese on a tongue depressor and that kept our dog occupied while we waited to be roomed. If you're looking for a new veterinary home, I'd suggest checking out Cathedral.”

“I had a really great experience with Dr. Hansen at the Animal Dermatology Clinic and wanted to share. Even though my pet was originally being seen in a different department, Dr. Hansen took the time to step in and give a thorough exam without rushing. He showed so much patience, offered thoughtful opinions, and communicated everything clearly. You can ask him anything, and he genuinely takes the time to explain and make sure you feel comfortable. He brings a fresh perspective while still being incredibly knowledgeable and attentive. He’s also very kind and gentle with the animals, which made a big difference for us. We went in today for a recheck on Koda’s ears, and everything went smoothly. I also want to recognize Juli, who is a fantastic and knowledgeable assistant. She does an excellent job coordinating care, takes a thorough history, and clearly truly cares about each patient. Her communication is clear, and she sets expectations really well, which made the entire visit feel organized and stress-free. Highly recommend!”

“Mt. Tabor Vet Care is fantastic. I have been coming here for years for vet care for my dogs, and this clinic is, without a doubt, the kindest, most caring veterinary practice you will find in Portland. The clinic staff is like a family, with some people having been here for more than a decade (shout out to Tracy - the best! -and Helena who helped me get labs to the dental vet!). You can feel that they treat one another with kindness, and this translates into a very positive atmosphere for people and pets. All of the vets, nurses, and vet techs are great. Some people insist on seeing the same vet every time, but you do not need to worry about that here. They read the chart so they know your pet's history, and everyone is so competent and good that it really doesn't matter. I have seen many different vets over the years, and they all have been excellent. The cost is reasonable and in line with what vet care costs in Portland. It is worth every penny to have a vet practice you trust.”

Nearly two years later, I can confidently say it was one of the best decisions we made for him. I am especially grateful to Dr. Phillip Skelding and the entire team at BluePearl. From the beginning, Dr. Skelding was knowledgeable, compassionate, and patient in answering my questions during a very stressful time. Most importantly, the outcome has been incredible. Anakin returned to doing the things he loves—hiking, backpacking, exploring trails, and enjoying life. At 11.5 years old, he recently completed a 29-mile backpacking trip, something I never would have imagined when we were facing surgery and recovery. I am deeply grateful the procedure gave my dog a better quality of life and gave us more adventures together. Thank you for helping Anakin continue to live such a full and active life. “This specialist came highly recommended to me through a facebook group for dogs with IBD. My little angel Lana had immune-mediated IBD (irritable bowel disease), PLE (protein losing enteropathy)/intestinal lymphangiectasia, iatrogenic Cushings syndrome, and frequent secondary infections with UTIs. She was an extremely complicated case when it comes to internal medicine and I couldn't ask for better treatment than she received from Dr. Klaser and Jennifer Jones - they were extraordinary to work with, very compassionate and understanding, and gave us an extra year with our baby girl. The team at Sunstone has always been so great with us. Thank you so much from Lana's family. Note: the prices for an initial consultation and appointments are much higher than a regular vet, but worth every penny - rather than seeing a doctor for 5 min, the specialists here really sit down with you for a long time to get a robust patient history so that they can deliver the best treatment plan possible. I never felt like appointments were rushed at Sunstone. Lana had actually gone septic 2 years ago after going to 3 different vets and not getting properly diagnosed, and I felt like those vets never truly listened to us. I would highly recommend Sunstone to anyone whose dog is having lots of stomach/digestive problems, particularly when regular vet offices haven't resulted in any diagnosis or positive improvement. Managing IBD and PLE in a beloved family member is really challenging and an emotional rollercoaster, and I felt Dr. Klaser, Jennifer Jones, and the whole Sunstone team really supported us at every step of the way for my dog Lana. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Thank you again!”

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly by the front desk and quickly brought to the back to meet with the veterinarian. The veterinarian was very kind, knowledgeable, and helpful in answering all of our questions, especially since this is our first dog. They treated Blazer wonderfully, and we really appreciated that they were able to get us in on such short notice. We feel very lucky to have found this place! Parking was also very easy and convenient. We would highly recommend Powell Veterinary Center at Westmoreland!”
