“My Goldendoodle, Blue, developed a severe bacterial infection around his groin and back leg. The rash was extremely red and irritated, and we were very concerned about him.
My husband and I are fairly new to the area, and our previous veterinarian was quite far away. I called three different veterinary offices, but unfortunately, none of them could fit Blue in.
When I called Penn Animal Hospital, they were able to schedule an appointment for Blue within just a few hour's. The receptionist was kind, compassionate, and helpful, which meant so much to us during such a stressful situation.
When we arrived, we were taken to an exam room right away. The veterinary technician took their time to discuss Blue’s symptoms and medical history thoroughly. When Dr. Travis came in to examine Blue, he was patient and never made us feel rushed. He carefully addressed all of our concerns and clearly explained Blue’s treatment plan, including the medications he would receive and the proper dosage's.
My husband and I are so grateful that Penn Animal Hospital was able to see Blue so quickly and help him when we needed it most. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of our sweet boy! 💙🐾🫶”

“Took both of my cat's here for check ups in the span of two weeks. I was extremely satisfied with their prices and care my cat's received. The vet is very knowledgeable and goes through every option with you. There aren't any spaces for your cat or animal to crawl under and hide while in the examination room. They accept Care Credit which is a plus when you may encounter a more costly visit unexpectedly. They offer a cat only day for cat's that are frightened of dogs or whatever the case. Definitely one of the best vets I've been to in the city and will continue receiving care for my fur babies here!”
“My two senior dogs have had major health problems since moving to Pittsburgh last year. All the staff are caring, kind, and trustworthy. I cannot give enough positive praise to Dr. Natalie. She treated my dogs like her own; her love of animals really shines through. She stays up to date on the science/research in the field, and is very thorough explaining possible causes and treatment avenues. “VERY CARING PLACE. TOOK OUR MARLEY IN TODAY AND SHE WAS SEEN BY DR AARON. HE WALKED IN AND UNDERSTOOD THE NATURE OF OUR DOG WITHIN SECONDS AND DROPPED DOWN ON THE FLOOR AND SAT TO RELEAVE ANY STRESS THAT SHE HAD. SHES A 90 LB GERMAN SHEPHERD WHO HAS A LOT OF ANXIETY WITH OTHER MALES. “I've been coming here for a few months now and everyone is so extremely kind and actually listens to my concerns about my pets, not to mention, the pricing here is phenomenal, I've never been to a more affordable vet where the doctors and technicians are extremely knowledgeable and always know what they're talking about! They gave me so much helpful advice when I came in as a first time owner of a new puppy, and I even left with a kong just for her. I don't usually write reviews, but my pets are one of the most important things in my life, and having a vet that takes such good care of them is something I have to spread the word on.”

“This was Cubby’s first visit to this veterinary hospital, and I will never take him anywhere else. I am extremely happy with all the staff members and the Doctor who examined him here. And to be quite honest, Cubby was not the only patient treated today. They lessened my anxiety by a great deal too. You can tell these people love animals. Everything was clearly explained to Me about Cubby’s health and I was not offered unnecessary services to inflate the bill. The cost was very affordable so much so that I donated to Paisley Paws too. I’ve been to other vets when I lived in other cities, and I am glad to be home with Point Breeze Vet!”
“I've been taking my cat, Johnny White Shoes, to the Cat Clinic since 2022 when I moved to Bloomfield. Though I've moved outside of Pittsburgh, I still take my cat back for checkups and to pick up his prescription food.
All of the staff there are fantastic, and Valerie still remembers me from when I used to live in Bloomfield, even though I only show up once every 3-4 months to pick up Johnny's food (even barring when I once ordered his food online due to my own illness). I'm sure they see a lot of people and cats, and I wouldn't expect it, but to be remembered is very nice!
All of the staff are awesome and clearly love what they do, and I've never had a single complaint! The atmosphere is great, everyone is kind, and they've got lots of little extra things for your kitty to love. To find a place like the Cat Clinic is rare, and I hope they continue to have lots of business over many more years.”
“A few years ago I brought my senior cat into this clinic for the first time; he was very, very sick and I was so scared that I was going to lose him, but thanks to this place I was given 4 more years with my boy. Even though it's not an emergency clinic everyone on staff rolled out everything they could in order to help and kept me comforted in that scary time. Edgebrook was my first choice and will forever be the only place I trust to care for my beloved pets.

“I’ve always had a really positive experience at Harts Run. The staff are friendly and welcoming from the moment we walk in, and we’ve never had to wait long. What I appreciate most is how they interact with our animals. They take their time, give them individual attention, and make you feel like your pet is important to them. I never feel like they’re rushing through the appointment or trying to get us out the door. It makes taking our pets to the vet a much more comfortable experience.”

“Staff were wonderful, but I waited almost 5 hours before I was told they needed to keep my dog overnight and how sick he really was. When he was released, I was told to bring him back next Wednesday for x-ray and blood work. I was told to call the day after discharge and let the doctor know how he was doing. I called from 3 different phones and it kept saying the number was disconnected. I finally found an email and then someone called me back. I was disappointed that when the doctor saw I didn't call, he would have checked in with me.When my dog was there, he was cared for wonderfully.”
“West Liberty animal hospital is the best vet practice I have found in the south hills. Dr. Dorn has lots of experience and is incredibly knowledgeable. I would never wish a sick pet on anyone, but if you do ever find yourself in that situation, I would highly recommend WLAH. The vet techs and kind and patient. Dr. Dorn will offer realistic and medically sound pet care advice.
The practice is very affordable. They don’t charge you and arm and a leg. Dr. Dorn is good about recommending certain tests but mindful of your money. He doesn’t do unnecessary things to ring up your bill. They offer cash discount which also helps with the bills.”
“Beautiful place. I'm thankful for no kill shelters. And they are rigorous if you even want to volunteer which is awesome. I really can't complain because their reasoning is sound but they have the doggos closed off with only a few to look at. Makes total sense, but it's sad when the dog can't choose YOU. I was expecting that same experience I had with my boy Brody from the north shore rescue. If ppl could just see these poor dogs in their cages you can't help but bring one home. But I get it.”

Absolutely love this vet so so much. I took one of my cats for establishment and vaccines and the staff was wonderful and so kind. The vet tech was also amazing! The next week I brought my other cat who absolutely hates being touched… you can imagine how that went for me crating her haha
Even though I got there slightly late from the ordeal of getting her ready, the staff went above and beyond for me. They explained the options of sedating her for her checkup (which was absolutely needed lol) and even gave me bandaids for all of my cuts from my little gremlin. This was the first time a vet ever did a full exam on her and I am so thankful to this team!!”
“We had to do the hardest thing a pet owner would ever have to do, we had put our dog Simba down due to him having seizures...they were the most compassionate staff ever!! “There was a very sick/injured stray cat at my work. I must’ve called 9 places before I called animal rescue of Pittsburgh and they were the only ones that would help. Unfortunately, the sweet cat I called Bear was in too much pain and they couldn’t help him, but they showed so much compassion and tried their best. I really appreciate everyone who was so kind to me and to Bear.”

“They’ve always taken great care of my animals. When my eldest cat was injured they were so helpful and made all the calls for me so I could take him for surgery first thing the next morning. The veterinarian even taked to the surgeon about the case right there during our appointment to make sure everything went smoothly.”
