To heavy on the black history. Everything else is minor. Typical of all museums now days.

A neat little museum on Edisto. Admission is only $8 for adults and $5 for children. A lot of information about Edisto Island and slavery pre-civil war and after.

The Edisto Island Museum & Gift Shop is the home of the Edisto Island Historic Preservation Society.
Our mission is to preserve and educate members and guests to the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Edisto Island.
There are wonderful displays, artifacts, and a wealth of historic information to view, including our new Gullah Geechie Exhibit.
Our gift shop offers curated island inspired gifts including original art work from a variety of local artisans, numerous books about Edisto Island and the Low Country, lovely jewelry and more. Plus, as we are a non profit, there is no sales tax on purchases.
