First let me say I LOVE Starbucks! I came to know and live them when I lived in Chicago as they were never more than a few minutes away. They were a daily habit. ( I hate to think of how many HUNDREDS of dollars I spent there back in Chicago!)So, I'm quite used to Starbucks 'statement', their consistency, their professionality, their quality. Now I live in rural East Texas. Starbucks are few and far between. Closest one to me is about thirty miles. That said, I stop at Starbucks whenever I am even remotely 'close' to one. I have even been known to make excuses to get near one, and have driven up to 50 miles out of my way to go to Starbucks.Have I set the stage sufficiently?I was thrilled that's Arbuckle came to Sulphur Springs. It was ' close' to me at only 25 miles from my town. I started going to this store the week they opened. Of course, I didn't expect perfection right away, so I held off doing a review. Here it is months after opening - and they still have not gotten their act together! Service is slow. Baristas and other staff waste entirely too much time socializing with each other. They 'lose' orders and have to be asked 'Where's my mocha?'The last trip to this Starbucks, we placed orders via the mobile app. Received confirmation that our drinks would be ready in 9-14 minutes. And we were in the store waiting within 5 minutes. We sat right by the counter where the barista places the drinks and we waited. 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 20 minutes.... No drinks. No recognition or greeting. Nothing. Finally, 38 minutes after our orders were placed, another employee 'not the barista - who was busy chatting) asked us if we were waiting on something. We told her. She had a chat with the barista, and 5 minutes later, the drinks were finally ready....During this time, new employees (green aprons still in hand) were chatting noisily at the next table, and their trainer was giggling along with them until they finally went back to learn something.Maybe it's the manager(s) at this store. Maybe it's the newness of this store. Maybe it's the local mentality about lax service. Whatever it is, this store is not up to Starbucks usual standards.Something needs to be done.I hope Starbucks management is listening. I gate to give any restaurant a bad review - but we've given this Starbucks ample time to get their act together, and we hope our feedback gets some attention. We'll still cone to this store, and we hope to see improvement. After all, as much as we live and rave about Starbucks, we hate to be embarrassed when people go there - and tell us it wasn't that good or service was slow.
