He gave me two pills to calm her. Then once i got into the office the office staff was very compassionate and caring. They made this difficult process a slight better with the service they provided.”

We’ve been through just about every stage of pet ownership with them—from rescue care, to emergencies, to surgery, to the hardest goodbye a family can face—and they have never let us down.
Our journey with them started when my husband rescued a puppy that was barely hanging on. At the time, we didn’t even know if we were going to keep him, but the staff showed incredible compassion and even worked with us on the cost because of the situation. We ended up adopting him and naming him Trigger.
Unfortunately, Trigger was diagnosed with a serious heart condition. Copeland referred us to specialists who could perform the surgery he needed, but the procedure was far beyond what we could afford. Instead of making us feel hopeless, they helped us focus on giving him the best quality of life possible. They walked alongside us through hospice care and, when the time came, helped us say goodbye with such kindness and dignity.
The care they provide during the euthanasia process is unlike anything we’ve experienced elsewhere. They are patient, compassionate, and never rush you. The memorial keepsakes are beautiful—from choosing the wood for the urn to receiving your pet’s paw print. It meant so much to our family. Having experienced the loss of another dog years before moving here, I can honestly say the level of compassion and memorial care we received at Copeland was on another level.
Since then, they’ve become our veterinarian for every animal we own. We briefly made the mistake of trying another clinic to save money on a routine procedure, and it ended up costing us far more—in both money and stress. We came back to Copeland, apologized for ever leaving, and they welcomed us back with open arms without a hint of judgment. They’ve been helping us ever since.
Our dog also has an unfortunate talent for throwing himself through windows (yes…more than once), requiring anesthesia, stitches, and emergency care. Every single time, Copeland has been there for us with professionalism, compassion, and outstanding medical care.
What stands out just as much as their medical expertise is the character of the people who work there. Even on what was clearly a busy day, the veterinarian took time to stop and admire the fish with my little boy. Moments like that tell you everything you need to know about the hearts of the people caring for your pets.

“We have been using Dr Schell and University Animal Clinic as our primary veterinarian for our dogs since arriving in Tyler 13 years ago. Over the years Dr Schell has administered vaccinations, and performed spaying/neutering, teeth cleaning/extractions. Our 11 yo oldest girl, who has been a patient of Dr Schell since she was 2 months old, had eye surgery yesterday with Dr Schell. We were concerned about her eye but today we can hardly tell she had surgery. Thank you to the whole staff at University Animal Clinic for taking great care of our babies.”
“They were exceptionally sweet and caring during the whole process of me getting end of life care for my sweet angel kitty Emma. They take Walk-Ins even if they have never seen your pet before, their prices are reasonable for the care you get, and they do nose and paw prints and help you choose a beautiful box design when you choose the option to cremate them. Also, when I called again this morning, they agreed and let me change the engraving on her box for her ashes. I put “In loving memory of my sweet angel Emma.” I’m sorry, I’m really sad still, this all happened yesterday. Fly high my sweet angel Emma, I’ll see you again in Heaven someday. Momma loves you so much.”

“We love this clinic! Dr. Neeliy is a wonderful vet and takes care of our dogs very well. We have three dogs and taking care of those dogs is expensive all in its own. So it was a blow when we found out that they were gonna go up on their rates.”
