“We stayed for just one night and it was a pleasent one. Spacious rooms, friendly staff, hot water, comfy beds with beautiful balcony view in the morning. Just what I wanted after a long flight.Layout could have been better. Our room was on the second floor, and it was a very long walk down the hallway carrying all the luggage.”

“This may be one of the best hotels I’ve ever experienced. It has incredible decor. I could spend hours just walking around and looking at all the beautiful items on display throughout the hotel. We asked for a quiet room, and we got it. Didn’t hear a sound. The bed was so comfortable, and the bathroom is lovely! The breakfast was wonderful, and the staff even offered to get us some to go. The grounds are immaculate, and the river is peaceful. My only regret is that we couldn’t stay here longer.”

“Little secret about dining in downtown Hanover. When all other restaurants are packed, head over to the newly renovated bar at Six South St. It's a limited dinner menu, but the food is delicious with good portions and you never have to wait.”

“This is a very neat hotel with lots of character. It's in a historic building smack dab in downtown White River Junction.Let's get the bad out of the way. Whether these are bad or not really depends on your outlook:- The building is old, and the common area floors creak as you step.- The rooms are fairly small and simple. If you're used to modern motel amenities you might be disappointed.- You hear a bit more noise than modern buildings.- There's no breakfast included. Now onto the good (and great):- The staff is wonderful.- The building is historic and gorgeous. It has character and class.- The amenities are well-chosen and tasteful. It's little things like local soap in the bathroom, and nice bath towels, and comfortable sheets on the bed.- Our room was perfectly sized for an overnight stay. I have a bias against the large suites that are becoming more common nowadays.- Our bathroom was generously sized, not just an oversized closet.- You're situated in the center of downtown, steps from pretty much anything. There are great restaurants and neat little shops within a couple of minutes walk. The ceilings are super high, 8 feet in the rooms and higher in the lobby, which helps with noise and gives everything an open feel. While we could hear people outside our room by the sound of the floor creaks, we weren't bothered by the sounds of people in other rooms. The night we stayed there was a party in the function room of the hotel. It was a little loud but it didn't keep us up. I assume it ended by 11 pm but I was asleep an hour before that.Nearby activities: It's in the middle of downtown, steps from the train station and river. There are great restaurants up and down the street.Walkability: The hotel sits in the middle of a very compact downtown. Everything you would want is just a couple of minutes walk from the front door.”

“Easy on / off access but also close to the cute town of White River Junction. Good parking, breakfasts, rooms are spotless and everything works. No restaurants within walking distance but oh well- easy drive down into town to get to a great selection of places to eat.”

“Wonderful HUGE suite (500-600 sq ft, perhaps), seriously our room has 2 separate spaces with a large living room, kitchenette, dining table, and a very spacious bedroom. The kitchen has a fridge, microwave & even a dishwasher. Further, the room & bath are clean. I especially like having a tub (small) for my bad back, when many hotels now offer only showers. We were warned that they were experiencing problems with overheated rooms, but it was pleasantly comfortable. Additionally, check-in was a breeze with a very friendly & efficient staff person. We also liked the modern clean common areas. We are big IHG fans & this is frankly not your typical Express but rather feels like a much higher product. Highly recommend staying here. Finally, the breakfast was very great with a large selection of goodies and the breakfast room immaculately clean.”

“Overall, the room was good.TV stations don't line up with the TV guide on the TV, but I could browse stations ok.The shower was about 5.5' tall, which is shorter than most showers. It was quiet. No view. It is walkable to various restaurants and stores.Breakfast was the worst part. The workers were nice and were moving as fast as they could, but the food was often gone, juice was almost never in stock, plates were often used up unless specifically requested for them to restock, etc. If the workers didn't have to seat people and get them coffee, they would probably have time to do other more useful functions. The actual food was ok, not as good as a typical hotel's continental breakfast, but it was tolerable. After our initial stay of two nights, we left to finish out the week at another hotel. The pool looked good, but I didn't get a chance to try it out.Rooms: The room was good. I could hear my neighbor in the bathroom via the vent duct, but it wasn't disturbing.Comfortable. Beds were nice.Only one chair and so it was a little difficult to eat dinner with my daughter in the room.Walkability: It is located in an industrial area, so you have to walk past the lumberyard or car mechanic depending on which direction you go. The crosswalks aren't great, as in they are missing in some intersections, but I was able to cross with the light changes as there isn't that much traffic. Plenty of restaurants and other stores within walking distance.Food & drinks: I put my comments about understaffed breakfast in my main review. Food was tolerable, but the hotel puts a low priority on the breakfast, despite having a nice location for it.”

“It has a bad rep but it's been cleaned up a lot and gives shelter to homeless Vermonters in need so I think it's a great establishment, no better use of the facility tht I can think of!”

“My room was nice. Pretty close to the airport, convenient to the Interstate. Breakfast was good. I totally mixed this hotel up with another one I’ve stayed in recently, so thanks to the owner for bringing it to my attention so I could fix my review, especially since the hotel I confused this one for isn’t even in Vermont.Walkability: Easy walk to McD’s and the gas station.”

“Staff was friendly. A good location by the highway and VA hospital.Best price in the area....but all the hotels/motels and BnBs are overpriced in VermontNeeds work- AC was filled with mold/growth in the vent, mattress cover was stained. So many smoking marijuana it filters in your room on the second floor.”
