Been a volunteer/foster for 8 years. Great organization and people. I've sent many adopters here and everyone has always been happy.

This is a wonderful place where everyone cares about the animals and their needs. They are careful to train volunteers to help keep the animals safe and loved. It is a beautiful location.

We adopted our dog from FOHA and were amazed by the grounds and the loving care provided. Animals have space to roam, grass to sniff, and TLC. Highly recommend!
Shelter Hours: Friday, Saturday and Sunday 12-5pm, appointments preferred (set up after you submit an adoption application). Walk-ins are also welcome.
Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) is a non-profit 501c3 no-kill shelter that focuses on the rescue and placement of homeless dogs and cats in the Northern Virginia and Washington DC area. We rely on the support of volunteers and donations from the public to continue our rescue efforts.
