IF YOU LOVE YOUR PET THEN STAY AWAY FROM THIS VET !!
I have 2 kittens and was in need of a vet, so being new to the area, chose this clinic !!! Long story short….they both had tape worms and I was MORTIFIED when they administered their meds. It was ABUSE….i hate myself for not stopping them. I have NEVER seen a vet do a pet this way !!
Our appointment that day was at 10:00 and we didn’t walk out of that place till 1:00….3 FULL HOURS I kept my babies in this dirty nasty veterinarian office !!
The next day I brought them to Calera Animal Hospital !! Such a relief to find a clean clinic and a great vet that genuinely cares about your pet. Dr Ellison taught me how to administer the 4 different meds to my kittens with ZERO problems !! You would think that any vet would know how to administer meds to a cat….someone needs to give Dr Z, at Shelby Clinic, lessons !!

Dr Z and staff are very great and super caring. Dr Z has brought one of our babies out from the jaws of death and done wonders with 2 others. I HIGHLY recommend her to everyone!!!!

I have 1 dog an 3 cats, Dr. Z is awesome at what she dose, an she cares! My animals quality of life has improved since switching to her. I highly recommend her office an services.

Brought my new puppy in for shots and evaluation. The vet and staff were great. I would recommend them.

By far the WORST vet I have ever worked for. Not her animal care but the way she treats her employees is unacceptable. If you are an experienced technician, stay FAAAAAR away from this place. Seriously. Low wages, and you have to ask before you do anything that is part of your job description. Makes sense now why her name is known in the vet world, and not in a good way.Seriously, do not work here.

Dr. Z took wonderful care of my two rescue kitties. Both Bandit and Smoky had rough starts in life. Dr. Z took time to accurately assess their unique needs and created highly successful treatment regimens. Additionally, her staff is First Rate and the office is super efficient.

Shelby Animal Clinic loved our baby like their own. They didn't hesitate to work us in as a new patient. The veterinarian paid close attention to our questions & concerns, providing us with all the help & expertise needed. The staff went above & beyond. We were very pleased & especially love that they are open for Saturday appointments.
