I experienced poor customer service and rude behavior from the cashier when I came into this location at 12:15pm today (11-22-2025). My father was up at the front speaking with the cashier about what he wanted to purchase and informed him that since we came into as a group that my fiancé and I looked young and would need ID us. I am 26 and my fiancé is 28 for context. I grabbed the product that I wanted to purchase and made my way to the check out. While going through my wallet for my ID I made light hearted and playful comments about being ID’d but still presented my ID with no push back. The cashier said to ME after taking my and my fiancés ID’s “If you want to keep giving attitude I can cancel this entire transaction.” I was taken aback by this response and apologized to keep peace and be respectful.
This experience has put a bad taste in my mouth for this location’s establishment. I will not be patronizing this location ever again. I have never had such an experience at any other ABC establishment I have frequented.
I would also like it to be noted that in the middle of this cashiers power grab he failed to ask my father for his ID.

I had one of the worst customer service experiences of my life at Athens ABC Select Spirits. The cashier was completely unhelpful, dismissive, and downright disrespectful. Instead of answering a simple question, they acted like assisting a paying customer was an inconvenience. The attitude was rude, unprofessional, and absolutely unacceptable for any business—let alone one that relies on repeat customers.
I won’t be returning, and I’d strongly recommend anyone else take their business somewhere that actually values the people who walk through the door.
