My first time filing with JH. I had a great experience! Our tax pro, Mike, in Athens,AL was super accommodating and polite. From my limited knowledge it seemed as he worked to get us the best return and that was appreciated. I would recommend.

They charge way to much for their services. The guy spent 2 hours and I was charged $580. When I had called to make the appointment the told me probably around $200 for the entire visit .. Big difference!!

Had my taxes originally done on 2/17, was told that the state wasn't taking returns at the time and that I had to mail mine in this year for some reason. That was all fine they told me they would give me a call when they were ready. Waited 2 weeks never heard anything, tried calling on multiple occasions and could never get anyone to answer the phone so approx. 3 weeks after original filing date I stopped back by on a Saturday to see if I could pick up my paper work. I was told they still weren't ready to accept paper returns yet. On the way home my wife called the florence office and they said that the state was taking returns and thy weren't sure why Athens said they weren't. So I tried calling again rhat next week and could never get ahold of anybody. I was finally able to get a ½ day off work yesterday 3/22 and went by the Athens location. Went in and sat down with the gentleman and told him everything that was going on, after a quick phone call to his boss, I believe he said her name was Jackie, he got my paperwork printed and me on my way. I check my paper work when I got in the car and saw where one Form 40 said I owed the state $91 and the Form40NR said I owed$216. Went back inside and showed the gentleman and he said he wasn't sure what was going on since he wasn't the original preparer. So another phone call to Jackie to see if we can get it sorted out. He got off the phone with Jackie and told me she said " she was extremely busy today and didn't have time for this dor me to come back tomorrow", he advised me not to send any of the paper work in and to go to the Jordan Lane JH office where Jackie is located and maybe she could help me there. By this point I have done been dealing with the mess for over a month trying to get my taxes done right. Ended up going to the florence office, and paying them $40 since its a different franchise, and having the sweet sweet ladies over there redo my state taxes, ended up only needing one Form 40, the 40NR, not both and only owned the state $96. Had her look over my federal return that had already been filed and check the numbers and Athens shorted me by $50 on that return as well, my advice to anyone needing to get taxes done is to stay the heck away from this office. Worst $500 I've ever spent and ill never return here again.

Always very knowledgeable and polite. It's always easy going and I walk out of there happy every year. I will be back again next year to file taxes.

I went to the Decatur Al office and Mrs. Elaine was very nice and professional, she made my experience with them accurate. I will definitely be going back to that location next year for my appointment.

1st time using didn't give me my paperwork. I had to go get it myself for IRS. verified that I was me. I had to call the state to do the same thing all the work running staying on the phone.on top of it all, they didn't tell me they were charging me almost 400 hundreds for me doing all the work.Please I beg you all to stay away from this place!!! charging you for something the IRS will do for free you will have to do a little work but not as much as using this (Jackson.H money-grabber.) you will get you money all your money. Charging for a rapped refund and waiting 2 to 3 months to receive what was mine.
