I had gone to get my transmission fluid serviced and when I went to pick it up they had told me none of my gears worked and then happily told me it would take $3200 to rebuild the transmission and 6 months to get it in do not recommend dated out in 2023

2005 gmc canyon rebuilt at 187k. Now back out at 222k. It gone me down the road for another 35k. Now dtc for mechanical component slipping. Fluid looks OK and is at the right level. I drove the truck real easy because I was always scared it would go out again... it did anyway.

I would recommend Smith transmission to anyone who wants great quality work and the best customer service! Took 2 weeks and honored the warranty to the tee! Knox will fix you up!

We had a major breakdown with our F350. We were towed to Smith Transmission in Athens, AL.
We are not from the area. We didn't know if they would be trustworthy, but they treated us the same as our own hometown mechanic, if not better.
It's refreshing to know there ARE honest mechanics shops, especially when an expensive breakdown occurs while traveling.
Towed in Monday afternoon and picked up that Thursday late day. THANK YOU, from the bottom of our hearts, for working us in and getting us back on the road.

Me smith and his receptors where very nice and customer service people. You can go there at 9am and 4 pm and get free diagnostic on your vehicle, it def got our business!!!
