This club is a complete joke! Two of my friends both tried to cancel back in the summer and found out recently they both owed 500$ + in debt because the staff doesn’t do their job. We called Max to try and understand the situation and they were no help at all. A previous manager told one of them they could cancel at anytime but apparently this isn’t the case. The previous manager also gave me and 4 others a feee year membership because we referred others to that gym. New management found out a few months later and canceled our free year due to them saying “we had no idea of this”. This gym is nothing but money hungry and cares nothing about the health and safety of their members. Highly recommend Crunch of Tiger Iron over Max Fitness.

I love Max, Katie did a body scan for me and my bestfriend and she was so informative and helpful. I love the atmosphere and equipment provided. I wish the sauna worked better but other than that, no complaints!

Extremely expensive for absolutely no reason. Most of the machines are not new, which wouldn’t be an issue if the membership weren’t so expensive. Another HUGE problem I have is paying $25 a month for “mid” equipment and i can’t even bring a friend for free more than once. Like are you serious? Crunch is $10 and a friend is free every single time. On top of all of this, it’s $100 to cancel if you want to leave (unless you pay for 18 months). What’s even dumber is that if I got an injury/disability that would in-able me to work out for the rest of my life, I’d still have to pay $50 to cancel. This gym is a worse moneygrab than your 20k/year private school. Do not recommend unless you have loads of spare cash you literally can’t spend on anything else. Also, when I signed up the woman who signed me up didn’t even mention the cancellation fee until I had already signed… (maybe it was right before I signed, I don’t exactly remember, but I do remember she said it quickly and quietly almost like she didn’t want me to hear it). Oh and one more thing - Upon joining and bringing one or 2 friends ONE TIME, they had no problem contacting them nearly everyday trying to get them to sign up, however when it comes to cancelling your membership don't expect the same attitude. They make it purposefully more difficult to cancel/suspend your membership, like you can't even just cancel or suspend it, you have to be approved... I've waited 6 days so far for a follow up on cancellation now (finally I just had to call them again) and my account still isn't cancelled yet. Id recommend this gym to absolutely nobody.

Been a member for about 6 months and I have loved my experience here so far. Everyone is very friendly and the music choice is always solid. It’s also never too packed during peak hours like many other gyms I’ve been to. It has all the equipment I need to hit everything & I’ve rarely noticed equipment being in need of repair.I also like working out at night, and Curtis (who works during the night shift) has helped me several times during my nightly workouts whenever I need anything. 10/10 gym!

Max fitness is my favorite gym I’ve ever been to. The atmosphere is friendly, the staff is professional & the equipment is nice. Big shout out to zoie on their team, SHE ROCKS!

The best club in Auburn! Great staff, brand new equipment, 30,000 square footage, sauna, childcare, personal training and more. Every staff member is dedicated to making sure your health needs are met! Even so, they give each member a free body scan and fitness consultation. I’ve worked at a gym in previous years and nothing compares to this one. It’s a gym community full of life! I hope that some of these reviews do not discourage the chances of anyone wanting to try this gym. The gym has transformed over the past few years and is under new management. The General Manager, Brady Mora, is the best of the best!

Good luck getting a response when you want to cancel you gym membership/contract. Contracts about 4 pages long… read it before you sign. Don’t bother using their website to cancel, they don’t respond to your email(s). The gym itself isn’t terrible, but as someone who has graduated and moved far away from the gym, it should not be a nightmare trying to cancel your contract. Only way I can put it is this gym has a terrible, almost predatory contract that will upset many people when it’s time to end it. Wouldn’t recommend this gym, and would instead highly recommend you spend your hard earned money at Tiger Iron, which is close by to Max and has much more equipment and space.

0 stars really. Besides the infamous video floating around regarding the harassment and poor response / handling from the actual employees, here is my own experience. My friend referred me to go there so we could both get a discount or something that I'm not even sure what it was applied to (if at all) because you'll go on to read that the handling of money and billing here is all wrong in the first place, from the start. It also supposedly included a separate free "vip tour" which I feel like anyone who is interested in the gym should be able to receive. Several employees texted me throughout different times of the day that same week trying to schedule me to come in to sign up. I let each of them know that I wanted the tour before I commit. Out of the 5 that messaged me throughout that week, only 1 girl actually helped me set up a time whereas the others couldn't be bothered. At the time, they were open 24 hours throughout the week and close early on weekends. I went at 7pm, an hour before closing, for a tour and no one was at the front desk. Me and my friend wandered past the offices and couldn't find a single person that looked like they worked there, just people using the equipment. We waited at the desk for 30 min before my friend decided she would just show me around. Only then did someone come ask us if we needed help. The employee had been working out behind the desk the whole time and either hadn't noticed us for the entire time we stood there or didn't care.Upon signing up, I was billed wrong and never told my total despite the dude working there asking if I wanted to leave a tip. FOR SIGNING ME UP? Besides that I didn't even see my total until after I went into the parking lot to leave and checked my bank app for what I was charged for. Because I was billed wrong, I complained via email and phone and kept getting the run around when I said I wanted a refund. Finally someone helped me and talked me into staying, changing my membership to the proper one I originally wanted, tried to assure me that the guy who signed me up was "new" and "should have never been in the office alone handling money and signing people up", and they applied the balance I already paid to future month bills so technically I "Paid in advance".Fast forward to now. I have been a member for about 8 months. I go to the gym about 2-3 times a week during night time. There is never anyone at the front desk. The sauna is never working. Several times the lights in a particular room would cut off (motion sensor) despite me moving around in it with no switch to flip to help. The fake grass upstairs looks tacky and it's uncomfortable. About 1-2 months ago I started inquiring about canceling my membership even though I still had a few months pre-paid from the situation that happened when I first signed up. I wasn't even worried about a refund at this point, just desperate to get out and also wanted to be assured I wouldn't be billed in the future despite all this. I couldn't get ahold of anyone via email despite the spam of emails I get throughout the week asking me for a yearly fee or to join classes, none of the phone numbers who texted me eager to get me to join all those months ago were available to help me once they realized no commission for sign up was involved now. This gym run by students and people who peaked in high school has poor management and clearly poor judgement or maybe it is a reflection of the type of managers that work here in the first place.

GREEDY LIARS. When I joined this gym I was told I could cancel due to finances if I really couldn't afford it and guess what, I had a real life event happen that made that true and they couldn't care less. I was charged $209 to cancel, PLUS $30 because apparently the cancellation takes 30 days to process and I have to pay for an additional months membership. If you want to CANCEL after not being able to afford it...guess what, YOU CANT WITHOUT PAYING $99!!! THEY LIE AND WONT WORK WITH YOU WITHOUT MAKING SURE YOU GO BROKE. If I could give 0 stars I would. They prey on unsuspecting college kids by getting them in with "free personal training" etc that cannot be used unless you join the gym. It's all a scam do not fall for it. Go to crunch or literally anywhere else in Auburn.

staff do not know how to resolve conflicts, there is video footage of a member threatening bodily harm to another member and the staff present dismissed their behavior and actually intimated they would kick out the victim for speaking up. Unbelievable and would not recommend this gym to anyone.

The employees at this gym PROMOTE the harassments of innocent members by confrontation old bald guys. This gym and its staff need to get their act together because that's completely unacceptable for any gym.

Terrible employees with not even the bare minimum of conflict resolution skills. They publicly allow bullies to threaten other gym goers. Save your money, avoid at all costs

I HATE THIS GYM! I wish I could put 0 stars but it won't let me. The membership is $30 a month MINIMUM and they just charged me another $35 and couldn't tell me why. Now that I'm canceling my membership, they said I have to pay a $99 cancellation fee. They are greedy penny snatching THEIVES!

The staff is great, always helpful, and kind. I enjoy that it’s not super crowded like other gyms in Auburn so you don’t have to wait on equipment. Also equipment is new. Best gym in Auburn!!
