Customer Service is terrible!Showers ? are nasty!Staff never speak when entering and exiting this gym. I have a strong feeling poor CS is due to my race, because two seconds after entering this gym, a Caucasian woman entered, and front desk staff spoke to her immediately. I physically watched this the whole time while/before entering the women’s restroom. 12/18/23 @8:40am

This is a great place to workout. The racquetball group is competitive and fun.

I started going to the Shades Valley Y following my marriage in 2006. The Shades Valley Y is a great place for families. My children have grown up there from the daycare through their conditioning training for their high school sports. The staff is always friendly and welcoming and have become our extended family. So if you’re looking for a healthy outlet for yourself or your family you should definitely check it out.

Absolutely the best! This is more than a gym, it is a community. Overall a very fun place to go with some of the nicest people you will meet.

Well maintained, friendly staff, large "have it all" gym areas, great changing room, steam & sauna rooms.Great outdoor pool and indoor pool. Indoor had comfortable temperature setting for year arround swimming! Outdoor is a perfect splash for kids and young teens to slash and do laps.Gym machines, classes and swimming laps - all great way to work out!The best to me is to have a sauna&/or steam time after all! It is amazing steps to finish sport activities and taking care of worked hard muscles..and mood too.Advize to visit...

August 2022 by Hi I’m bored
I’m saying this about six years late. I went to the summer camp as a small kid, and it still has a lingering impact on the way I act around adults. When I went there, the summer camp counselors were extremely rude. On one instance they stated that the lunch I brought “smelled like poop and pee” because they weren’t familiar with the ingredients or something of the sort. The only thing I can think of that was weird in the dish were the chives. Additionally, they did not allow me to use the restroom when I needed to, because they already had brought another child there before me, and they didn’t feel like making the trip. Ever since that summer, I have had issues talking to adults and asking questions out of fear that they will scold me. I hope that other children were not affected the same way, and that the summer camp was an insignificant uncomfortable memory.

The Y is great! I like the more open atmosphere. The people here are very friendly. Not too much equipment but exactly what I need. Staff are very welcoming. My daughter loves the outdoor pool and splash pad. I like swimming laps inside.

Another YMCA location that doesn't fully support military. I was told they offer membership for active duty stationed in the area but do not allow passes for military in the area attending training, even after I offered to pay.

We love to swim and Shades Valley Y has it all! The indoor pool is perfect for lap swimming and the outdoor pool is very accommodating for anyone with mobility issues- it even has a sloping entry..not to mention all the water features and 2 slides for the kids. Love this place so much! Superior facility, helpful n smiling staff, always a happy experience for the whole family.
