DO NOT RECOMMEND. This place makes Center Point Local Businesses look bad.
Called and asked for price for a repair. The guy on the phone, asked for First and Last Name, and I gave him my first name and only need to know how much to replace a part on my wife car. Since I did not give him my last name, the guy then says our system is down and just hangs up phone??? Not good for a first time caller to the local business. I would not recommend at all with that type of first impression.

On Friday, July 12, I dropped off my car at Metro 1 Centerpoint. They informed me that they would fix the issue with the signal switch electrical connector. When I called the next day, no one answered the phone. I had to wait until Monday to call because they are closed on Sundays, and was then informed that a new part was needed. The initial quote was $200, but the final cost ended up being $600. Despite the price increase, I authorized the repair and was told it would be ready by Wednesday or Thursday. However, when I called on Thursday, they said it was still not ready and asked me to come back after noon on Friday. Later, on Friday, July 19, they called to say that they couldn't fix the issue, charged me $95, and also damaged my gas needle. I've been trying to reach out to the management about the gas needle issue, but they haven't returned any of my calls. The gas gauge was working fine before, but now, even with gas in the tank, the light remains on E.

Only use Iron City for minor repairs and maintenance.
October 2023, I had my truck towed to Iron City. I was advised that I needed a harmonic balancer. They replaced the harmonic balancer($800) and the truck still wouldn't drive. I was then advised that I need an accelerator pedal. The accelerator pedal was installed at a dealership and was still under warranty so I had the truck towed to the dealership just to be told that I actually needed a transmission. Back to Iron City my truck went. They confirmed that yes, I needed a transmission.
Being that I was a customer for over 20 years, I elected to have Iron City handle the job. Fast forward almost 8 months later, my truck still is not working properly and Iron City has basically washed their hands of the situation. They've downloaded "kits" from GMC, replaced the torque converter that was installed with the transmission, advised that I needed an Engine Control Module installed(elected not to have the ECM installed because at this point, you're just guessing). Even after the owner drove my truck the final time, he advised everything was fine. It's not.
Now Iron City is stating I need an accelerator pedal, again....Herein lies the problem - because of the length of time Iron City had my truck, the accelerator pedal is no longer under warranty with the dealership. I now have to pay for a diagnostic and if the accelerator pedal is the problem, I have to pay for it again since the warranty expired.
Iron City insisted on being paid the remaining balance for the work done however, I generally don't pay for any work with anyone until the job is complete. Upon speaking to the owner today and advising of the issue with the pedal being out of warranty and my unwillingness to pay him the balance until my truck is working properly, he threatened to sue me and advised me that I bit off more than I could chew when I bought the truck. Wow...I even remained a customer when one of his employees stole my taillights off my other truck and this is how this ends.
If I tell you the pedal is out of warranty, why not initiate a conversation to replace the pedal at the shop....maybe because you still aren't sure if it's really the pedal.
Needless to say, I will never step foot in that shop again.

I moved here a few months ago from Austin,Tx and it’s time for an oil change so I googled to find places near me and the reviews for this place sold me and they didn’t lie.

came here after another shop had basically cheated me out of my money and left me with the same problems I went there with. I was referred to Iron City and I wish I had come here first. The fact the owner came out and explained some changes and assured us that we'll definitely see a difference in our vehicles made me feel pretty darn good about continuing to come here! ✊? Never had a problem when they were Precision, I'm expecting the same from Iron City Tire & Auto... New name same great service!
