The Chelsea, AL location has been our home bank and go to location for the year we've banked with Avadian and for this entire year 95% of the visits have been an issue. Today we pull up to the drive thru, the person in front of us is being told to come inside because today they have enough staff to actually have the lobby open so the transaction must be completed inside. Of course the customer protests like we have at least 4 times since banking here, saying I've done such and such from the drive thru everytime I've come. I'm saying all of this to say that this location is consistently inconsistent. So much so that it is always an inconvenience. So as the car in front of us pulls away and we pull up I see the associate (the one with a bob) sit down or reposition herself. We park and go to pull the canister, it's not there, we look up to ask the associate for the canister, she's not there either. 12 minutes later were still sitting there with no assistance. We push the call button, 5 minutes later nothing. I get on my phone to call the bank. No answer. Finally we pull around and go inside. This location is the worst Avadian needs to do better.

This is the most frustrating bank I’ve ever dealt with and have finally had enough. Will definitely be finding a new bank as soon as possible. I was very excited when I learned that Avadian was starting the early deposit service where paychecks from state employers can be released up to 3 days early. Last month my check posted to my account 1 business day early, and all of my husbands check have consistently posted a day early as well. This month, my check did not post a day early. I went in to inquire and find out if there way anything they could do to help because I was expecting it today. The branch manager at the Chelsea location was completely unhelpful and acted like she didn’t care about my situation. All she could do was tell me “they COULD go in early, or they could not”, and that it’s not guaranteed. What kind of service is that? We can’t have inconsistency in when they decide to release our funds. That’s ridiculous. I had an overdraft charge on my account because I scheduled a bill to be paid, thinking that if my check was a day early last month surely it would be this month too. I asked if she could at least refund the fee. As a branch manager she has that capability, but told me she would “submit it for approval”. Well I know what that means. I’ll never get that charge refunded. Finally I told her that I was extremely frustrated and that I would probably be changing banks. She shrugged her shoulders and said “okay”. HORRIBLE customer service and they clearly do not care about their customers. Trust the reviews and do not bank here.

If I could rate this Credit Union ZERO, I would! Avadian CU is apathetic towards their members, and will nickel & dime you for every little charge and fee they can get from you. This has been the absolute worst banking experience of my life! Avadian CU does not value their members. After only 4 months, I have begun the process of changing my banking institution.Edit, to add: I have transferred my banking to Capital One online. The 360 Checking account does not charge fees. They will cover ACH and Auto Pay Draft transactions, (even if your account falls short) - with NO Fees. Also, as a Capital One member, I can use Coosa Pines Credit Union ATM's, along with Walgreen's, CVS, and Circle K with ZERO ATM fees... Banking with Capital One Online is such a refreshing and pleasant banking experience!

Are you looking for a worse bank than Wells Fargo? Well, look no further! I’ve never been told I can’t be helped cashing a basic check, nor does there online banking never work. I am also told to take off my hat or I can not be helped when I’m having clumps of my hair fall out! If you call the customer service number they transfer you for over an hour then hang up. 0/10 wouldn’t recommend.

Walked in today and the lady behind the countef asked me to remove my hat. The gentleman she just helped had a hat, the guy beside me had a hat on. The guy she helped right after me also had a hat on. I asked her why i had to remove my hat and she stated company policy. I guess that policy only applied to me. I can only guess that my hat proudly displayed the American flag which may have triggered her. Either way, I dislke being singled out like that and will take my banking elsewhere if it happens again.

I have not had to go into this location for a long while, even before COVID locked the doors. I have never had a bad experience with the staff here.

I don’t normally complain about local businesses but I’ve about had enough of being nickel and dimed from Avadian Credit Union. My wife and I both have separate accounts with them and have had mortgages and car loans. We sold our house and moved last April and unbeknownst to us have been getting charged an incorrect address fee every month ever since. Strange thing is that the new house that we built was financed through Avadian as well so they obviously have our current address. We rarely use that account as a primary checking so it went unnoticed this entire time. This is not the first time we have gotten these types of fees as well as inactivity fees from Avadian. Just posting this so that other folks can hopefully avoid similar situations with a credit union that does business in this fashion.

I couldn't afford my car payments anymore so I returned the vehicle 4 YEARS AGO. Every 2-3 months they report it as a NEW charge off intentionally trying to damage my credit.
