I had a car loan with Coosa and i paid the loan on time for the last almost 2 years... I recently paid the car off and i applied for another loan and got denied for another car loan. Granted my credit isnt the best but my previous car loan history with the establishment should help considering my credit wasnt great when i recieved the first loan.. I recently got into a car accident and my car was totaled and it was the last vechile me and the family have for transportation and i just knew that Coosa Pines would be the saving grace for a car loan in my time of need based on my car loan history with them. But i guess it was wishful thinking??♂️??♂️ So thats why i gave them a 2 cause in my time of need the door was slammed in my face.

I have been banking with Cossa Pines for almost 12 years. But in the past year the customer service has been beyond horrible. They seem to have one bank teller that is extremely rude. The past few times I have tried to do business there she has made me want to close my accounts. I did bring it up to the loan officer. And I was told “ we’ll sorry I didn’t hear her. So I don’t know what happened. If you want to close your accounts you will have to come back tomorrow.” Honestly the past 11 years banking there have been wonderful. Staff was friendly and asked how you were. The bank felt like a small town bank. Friendly. After today I will be closing my accounts and going regions. I do not want to put my money in a bank where people are ugly to you.

I recently moved to Chelsea and stopped by the local Coosa Pines branch to open an account but I was dissuaded by some bizarre policies...First, they require a hard credit inquiry to establish membership, even to a open a deposit account. Their reasoning was to "identify" the members but I've never heard of any financial institution doing this. I worked in BSA/KYC compliance for a major bank for many years and can say with 100% confidence that there are many other options to verify new customers' identities. FinCen-mandated KYC questionnaires and ChexSystems background checks provide more than ample data for a financial institution to identify and risk-assess new customers. If I had to guess, they probably (unofficially) require the credit check to guide new members into taking out a loan. This sounds like questionable lending practices at best.Secondly, they charge nominal monthly service fees for customers who establish and maintain multiple checking accounts. I use the Dave Ramsey (ish) method for budgeting but I don't like to carry cash, so I maintain 4 separate checking accounts for each category. My current credit union uses suffixes to distinguish sub-accounts of the Share Draft (member) account and assigns debit cards for each sub-account, so I know this can be accomplished easily. The average daily balance across all my checking accounts is over $5k so the Credit union would benefit from my business without the fees, especially considering the low cost of servicing subaccounts in a Credit Union, and the high upside potential when they loan my money out in this high-interest environment with 0% reserve ratios.Lastly and most importantly, they have indefinitely discontinued their annual members' meetings. Since credit unions are owned by their members, I would expect regular access to the senior leadership through the annual members' meeting. They cancelled due to COVID but still haven't re-instated it yet (As of 12/11/2022). Every big corporation has been holding remote shareholder's meetings via Zoom etc during the pandemic. Why is this institution different? If I had to guess, the senior leadership is probably using COVID as an excuse to avoid accountability to their shareholders. On the upside, the people who work in the Chelsea branch were nice and pleasant. I still wouldn't do business with them, though.

We have been members for a few years. I hate to say this but it’s the absolute truth. Coosa pines is extremely behind the times as far as their software, online banking etc.The other extremely frustrating thing that happens is - At least once every couple months I have to log back into my online banking account and my password always fails to work. I end up having to call and have them reset the password every single time.I gave them 3 stars because I do like having my vehicle loans through them. They gave good rates and paying the loans is easy through their online banking and app.

Lost loan papers they didn’t loose they just don’t know where that at . Tried many minutes to get a person to answer phones . Sever calls it always the same old recording . I have had accounts at Avadian and at Purdue federal credit union and they have customer service skills . I advice going to a more customer service credit union . It’s really changed in the 40 years I’ve been a member .

I used to be a member here for about 6 years. I had multiple car loans thru them and everything. I stopped doing business with them years ago. This was because they did not inform me that they were going to start deducting from my account with out permission just for having an account. Now, 3 or 4 years later, I am looking for another car loan. I gave them a call. Ms. Amy Holcomb spoke with me on the phone. She stated that I could get a loan for my specific car for $6,000.00. I told her I was driving at that time so she said she would email me the application. When I got home, all I had was an email that stated she had talked to me about a loan and that she was looking forward to me calling her back. There was no application to fill out. I called back and talked to someone else. They stated that they could only give me a loan for $5,800.00 for my car. I told her that Ms. Amy Holcomb stated that I could get one for $6,000.00. She transferred me to Amy. She stated that it was my fault for talking to someone else, and that she never stated she would send me anything. It is this kind of terrible service that made me drop them as my credit union. I will pay more for a loan if it is with people I can trust. At this point, I will have to. Horrible customer service. Shame.
