I am so disappointed in my last experience with The Computer Store (formerly IT Computer Store) after having done business with them for many years. I have purchased no fewer than 4 Apple computers from them. Being used equipment, I understand that they are going to be "obsolete" within a few years. But if I can get 3 good years out of a piece of used equipment that cost 1/3 the price of a new one (I generally paid about $450), that is OK with me. On December 19th, when one of my business computers went down (that I had purchased from them a couple years ago), I bought another a used iMac, but the cost had increased significantly for a "late model" unit and I paid $1072 for it. It worked OK for a couple of days, then started giving me some trouble. I updated the software and got another few good day's out of it. Then prior to the New Year, the wired keyboard quit responding and the monitor started cutting in and out; I was unable to use it at all after 12/30. Meanwhile, I discovered that a NEW base model iMac with an M3 chip is only $1299. So I returned the non-functioning use equipment to them today (1/2/24 - less than 2 weeks after purchase) and they charged me a 30% ($300) RESTOCKING FEE. This is a piece of USED equipment - it was not purchased NEW and returned USED. When I called them to let them know I was bringing it back there was no mention of a 30% restocking fee. I knew equipment had a 30 day warranty, but I had no idea that if you purchase something there and brought it back 2 weeks later, after only 7 working days use, that is going to cost you 30%. Clearly too big a risk to take on something that was not a big savings over new equipment with a full warranty. BUYER BEWARE. They did not value my business, and they will not value yours.

Tried to sell me a used item for almost DOUBLED the price of a new one at Best Buy. I am not sure why people are praising how good the prices here but they all seem OUTRAGES. A friend of mine was able to cut down half of the price by simply asking questions and bargaining. Important take away, he will be trying to take advantage of people who he assumes doesn't know a lot about electronics. Please watch out.

They have good prices on computers, laptops, and phones. You also can get them fixed there. They can have you ready in about 2 hours.

Absolutely fantastic!!! Bill is extremely knowledgeable. He doesn’t try to rush you out and answers any & all questions without making you feel like an idiot. We’ve purchased laptops for myself, my husband, 2 college daughters & never had any issues. My husband brought in laptops for repairs from his work. This shop is my go-to place for all thing computer related--PCs, laptops, MACs, monitors, accessories, repairs, special orders--everything! They are highly skilled and reputable in their business dealings with reasonable pricing that is competitive with everywhere else, including online. They even take trade-ins! I've been a customer for five years and will continue to do business with them, especially due to the great service provided by Bill who is both a technician and a consultant/advisor.

I have come to like this place quite a lot. Bill is a real class act, and has helped me find what I am looking for on several occasions. I used to come in here often to see what BIll had lined up around the shop. If your lookin for a deal or trying to get rid of uneeded electronics, this is a good place to go.
