I know a lot of people complain about TEC but I really can't complain. We are still on copper wire for our internet and it's only about 11 mbps but we have not had any problems streaming or internet calling.

It's funny how the government keeps issuing grants for rural development of internet service but poor Ole cherkee alabama keeps getting left out. If you live here, your 20 years behind everybody else. There's a problem and my suspicion is TEC is the root of that problem. What is grant money being used for?........executive salaries?

TEC has got to be the worst internet I’ve ever had! My internet now has been out for four days and I have tickets in but they’re not even trying to fix it. I have lost TWO JOBS because of them not coming out to fix the internet. My DSL keeps going down and it takes them 3 days to a week to even think about coming out to fix the issue! I shouldn’t be having to lose my job because of them not wanting to do their job and waiting days to weeks to fix my internet! They don’t even offer to lower the bill any for the inconvenience. I have been up every morning at 8 am to call and have called numerous times throughout the day to try and have it fixed with no answer through the office just technical support and they can’t do anything about the DSL over the phone! It’s getting ridiculous, it took me having to call corporate when I lost my job just to get them to get out here and fix my Internet. It’s a waste of money and we need different and better internet providers available for Cherokee!

I live in the city limits and can’t even get fiber. We literally can’t watch more than one or two devices or it starts buffering. If the wind blows it’s out. If it rains it’s out. Lord forbid my son plays one of his games online. Then we can’t do anything in the house. Not another device will stream. TEC is the worst.Save your time TEC no need in giving me the generic email or call response. We have numerous times and the normal response of maybe one day all of the city limits will get fiber. What a joke.

I really can't comment on actual service since I don't have it but I can comment on the experience so far. 2 days from now will make 7 weeks since signing up. In the 3rd week I called them because I was told 2-3 weeks when I signed up. Since then I've been told twice it should be next week. 2 weeks ago I was told we'll have to call you back. Because of the storms in the area I didn't call last week because I figured repair work was in process for people who actually have service and I can understand that. This week you can't even call directly into the office. You have to leave a message for a return call. It seems they are severely understaffed or just don't care. Edit. I was able to reach the office. The recording I got must have been at the lunch time, but 24 hours later and no replies on installation.Edit 3/14/23. Got installed yesterday. 7-1/2 weeks in and it does sound like they are a little understaffed at present.Once on line, it was pretty quick but I'm going with a 3 star for now based on how long it took for installation. Will come back in a few weeks and raise that if service stays like yesterday.

The bill is higher than it is supposed to be and the lady who works at the Cherokee Al office never opens up the office door is always locked. Just a lazy lady who works for good money but does nothing to earn it. We have three children in school and my wife has been approved for the new benefit program since March but they are still trying to charge us full price.

This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. If I could have any other internet provider to meet my need to work from home I would. We paid for hook up and were advised 3-4 week timeframe. I have called, and called, and again you guessed it, CALLED. It is going on 6 weeks now. Still no internet. They will not give me a new timeframe of when to expect hook up. Literally am being told everyday “I still don’t have an answer for you. Idk when we will get it hooked up. We do it in the order received.” Ok. I get that. I’m not trying to skip the line for special treatment but the fact that you think “idk” is an acceptable answer is pathetic. I am not trying to stream Netflix. I. Work. From. Home. I am 3 hours away from my house working at my mothers house AWAY FROM MY FAMILY and you are telling me you have no idea how much longer this is going to take even after I have given you my money. No urgency. No empathy. I’ve been told 4-5 times Mr Bart the supervisor is going to call me. Haven’t gotten a single call. Not even a MISSED call on my phone. If I don’t have internet in a week I’ll be contacting corporate to get get an answer for a timeframe and doing everything in my power to get another internet provider out to give REAL customer service. I haven’t asked for a specific date I have asked for an updated timeframe and no one will even tell me if it will be another day or another month. This is affecting my entire life and they could care less. I have never in my life left a bad review on anything. This is pathetic. The office won’t escalate the issue so now I have to take the time out of my day to do that myself apparently. I’ll be contacting the county commissioners office and corporate. Mark my words. TEC SUCKS. And that says so much coming from someone who deals with irate customers every single day as a career. If you can avoid this company at all costs PLEASE DO. Wasted money. Wasted time. They don’t care.

If I could give less than one star I would.My grandparents payed for internet service from them two months ago. The money came out of their account and it still took them a month to even get out here and install the box. Then the technician left on Wednesday the 21 without finishing the job…said he would be back in 15mins and if he was not back he would come back first thing in the morning. Here we are seven days later still can’t get a hold of him and the lady at the office is saying he is on vacation until the second of January. And that he has to respond to other tickets before he can come back to them. Its very sad that a company would take advantages of old people like this.

Here I am againYesterday we were told by the woman who works in the office that she gave Mr. blockers (my grandpa) number to her boss and he would call him in a bit. 24 hours later and still no one has contacted him. The company could really use a class in customer service. I will continue to leave these reviews every day until our problem is taken care of.technicians should not be allowed to move on to new tickets when they did not finish a job. Greg said he would be back in 15 mins…. it’s been 8 days since he left and we have not been able to contact him or get any help from the main office.

We have had TEC internet for a few month now. Had a problem with the lines that where put in by a sub contractor who left the line bare in the ditch. The technician came out several times trying to find the problem and we only discovered the problem after the heavy rains last week. They came out this morning and fixed it temporarily until a crew can come in this weekend to replace the whole line. My husband works from home and we greatly appreciate the effort to keep us going. Thank you, your technicians rock
