I’ve been taking my German Shepard here for over 12 years and my sons chocolate lab the staff is very friendly and helpful. Dr. Durham is the best I’ve found around cullman county and will work with you and your pets in any way possible. Awesome clinic!!!!!

Dr. Durham is a very compassionate veterinarian who takes the time to comfort pet parents as well as offer exceptional care to pets. My dogs always enjoy boarding here as well. I highly recommend this veterinary hospital!

Only vet in cullman that I have ever used but I will never take another pet back to them. They will talk down to you and treat you like you’re stupid. Plus they charge for breathing air inside their building.

We have used Compton's for many years and have always been happy with their care of our animals. This week we were impressed with not only that but their care for our family. Dr. Durham and her staff were kind, compassionate, and respectful as we had to say goodbye to our dog of over 14 years.

The best veterinarian office I have dealt with in Cullman. The whole staff seams to care about your pet and the Doctors are willing to take time to listen to you as well as explain any issues. I wouldn't say they were the least expensive in Cullman but prices are reasonable and we'll worth it.Since first posting this review they I've had my best friend in their care for several days and they did an excellent job not only helping my Mrs. Mazy they also kept me well informed and set my mind at ease. They also went above and beyond with after hours communication to get her blood sugar maintained. I can't say enough good things and would recommend anyone needing a vet to give them a call.

During this covid outbreak, we took our yorkie to another vet because she was itching really bad, to the point of her hurting herself. Said vet came out to get her, kudos, but brought her back 5 minutes later, said she got a shot it'll help, and left after charging $100+.We did this twice. Well here recently she itched until she got a bald spot. So we decided to try Compton's. I liked them before when they met me for an emergency exam on my dying cat, and they were kind when I had to put her down.So back to my yorkie, I brought her there, and the nurses came out and got her,yay covid. They kept her for 15-20 minutes, and then the doctor came out and talked to me, gave me advice for her itching and gave me meds for her. They even checked her anal glands for us. All told I was expecting a huge price like the other vet, but I was only charged around $75. The fact she came out and talked and gave me info to help her was worth it, but with meds and everything else, that price was amazing! They've gained a customer.*Update* we continue to use Compton's! They are great with our dogs, and just helped us with our older dog. FYSA, they do take care credit.

I used the same veterinarian for probably 30 years. Changing is not something I take lightly . We decided to see Dr. Durnham for several reasons . We got a new standard poodle puppy . Dr . Durnham had already been caring for the puppies as well as the parents. Plus, I had several family members and friends. Tell me how great she was . After our first visit we were so impressed . We decided to bring the whole gang !!! We had our third third visit today . Let me tell you Dr . Durnham genuinely cares for her patients !!!! She is so soft spoken, gentle and loving . She takes time to explain things and gives you options with their care if possible . ALL of the staff are so helpful and nice. They always seem happy to see us !!!! AND !!!! they take appointments !!!! I love this SO MUCH . Thank you Dr . Durnham and the entire team for taking such good care of all three of our babies ❤️❤️❤️

We’ve been taking our dogs and cats to Comptons Veterinary Hospital to see Dr. Durham and her crew since 2012. She shares in the joy of getting new family pets and in the heartbreak of your beloved pet’s death. Not only have we taken our pets to her, but I’ve also taken my mother-in-law’s dogs there too. I’ve experienced regular wellness visits, emergency visits including immediate orthopedic reconstructive surgery and extended stay rehabilitative services, emergency canine shortness of breath w/in-house imaging and specialist referral locally, spaying/neutering of several dogs and cats (including a catch and release feral cat), canine skin tumor removal (multiple tumors, different areas of the body over a 5 year period), feline I&D procedures for infected cysts, skin disorders and treatment for my dogs and older cats, canine behavioral medication management (prescriptions to manage fear/biting/aggression during grooming and feeding), full diagnostic blood panels (CBC, kidney/liver function, thyroid, diabetic testing, BMP, parasites, heartworm, viral panels, and so many more), nail trimming/grinding, overnight medical care, canine euthanasia with cremation options, and many other non-emergent acute care needs. We moved from the Cullman area to Huntsville 6 years ago, but I will STILL make the drive out to Compton’s for my pet care needs. Dr. Durham is cognizant of the trip I make to have her see my pets—knowing my options include going to any of the 50+ veterinarians in a 20 mile radius of my home—she is always accommodating and appreciative of my patronage including offering to board my dog for a few hours while I did some shopping around Cullman and offering fast medication shipping to my home so I don’t have drive 50 miles one way to get it. She takes the time to listen and explain a multitude of topics, including answering the never ending questions stated by my 7 year old. She always gives you a variety of treatment options and doesn’t pressure you to choose the invasive and costly option. She is genuinely happy when you are happy and that your pet has received the level of care you wanted. She makes after hours calls, gives you her work cell phone number, and allows communication via text message, including a form of vet telehealth for convenience. I still make recommendations to folks here in HSV to make the drive to Compton’s Veterinary Hospital if they want compassionate, reasonably affordable, and prompt service. For a number of years they had been able to keep costs of various services below the average rate, however, understandably, the cost has steadily increased in the last 3 years: probably still $15 or more (depending on type of service) below the same care type in HSV/Madison, but I was shocked to see my bill total of just under $500 for my two dogs in June 2023 (reg vaccines, one vet visit fee, a ton of blood work for one dog, and nail trimming for both). Shocking simply because past surgical procedures, overnight stays, and anesthetized imaging (X-rays) have never cost us that amount in one visit. We will continue to see Dr.Durham and her staff at CVH, as I love her compassionate approach to animal care and have years of established trust, but I hope they can also maintain consumer costs without yearly service inflation and without sacrificing quality of products or services. It’s so hard to find caring and empathetic providers that are affordable and fairly priced—I’m blessed beyond measure to have found such an amazing animal care team. Thank you for all you do!

Dr. Durham and her staff are the sweetest, most competent vet clinic we've ever taken our animals to. They are always knowledgeable and understanding and never charge an arm and a leg for unnecessary procedures. Our dogs still hate going to the vet, but when they need to go Compton's is fantastic.
