Rented a car today for pickup today. Hertz website allowed me to do the reservation. Got an email confirmation also. 24 minutes before I was scheduled to pickup they called. I missed the call and they didn’t leave a VM (that part is my fault since my VM was full). Only called once. I get dropped off there and go inside to find out that they don’t have a car available and can’t guarantee one even if I wait around. They also already cancelled my reservation plus were not helpful at all. Can’t really blame the employees since the resources appear pretty lacking in there. I fault Hertz mainly just because their business practices are seriously lacking. Don’t allow reservations if you don’t have cars available. I used to work for Hertz over 20 years ago and their systems were
antiquated at best back then. I see they have not improved. No wonder they are ranked so poorly these days. Stock price is dismal as well. Hertz do better! Won’t be placing a reservation for this location ever again! If you don’t have cars available then just have your freaking website communicate that. Don’t waste people’s time!!!!!

Only because I can’t go any lower. I paid 867$ for ten days. Was promised 200$ back. I made payments each time I need to extend my rental time. Filled it up so I would not be charged. They turned around and decided to take 666$ dollars anyways. After I paid each time and returned it before a deadline. That’s theft and they will be hearing from me.

This place is terrible! I booked a car online, received a email and a text confirmation! Showed up to pick it up and was told they had nothing available! Tried to tell me that they called and left a message, I looked standing there, and showed them no message was left! They did nothing to try and accommodate me, like try other locations, showed no compassion, instead had an attitude! Other guy sitting there, never even looked up from his phone! It’s obvious this is an ongoing issue per the many other reviews! Once I told them I was in town to take my elderly mother to her Dr appointments, they said they may have a return around 4:30, whole day lost, but most of her appointments were tomorrow, so I said well I will have no way to get back up there, would they pick me up from the hotel, 4 miles down the road, again the answer was no! 😩. I went across the street to Enterprise, which I knew they were booked per online, but was hoping on the off chance they had a cancellation, they did not BUT…. I had 4 very sweet gentlemen helping me find a car at another location, which they did!!! We are gold Hertz members, but I can assure you, we will now be faithful to Enterprise!!

My car rental was a wonderful Experience!
In and out with my rental vehicle in NO time it seemed at all! Hopefully ALL my future rentals with this company will be made here!
Ms. Lindy Clarke represented her company VERY well! She was MORE than helpful with the rental !! Hertz would do well to duplicate her skills with helping serve their customers!!

They left my wife and I stranded with 2 infants in car seats in the parking lot without a vehicle. We had to call an Uber after paying $1350 for a rental. I rented a ram 2500 for a week while my truck was in the shop. I ended up needing it for an additional week so I extend the rental by phone and swapped over to my own full coverage insurance to save money. After 2 weeks was up, I came into the location to pay up, have the oil changed, and extend the rental for an additional week. They said the truck was on a repo list because I never extended the rental to begin with, but I have phone records from customer service, and a voice recording of the lady at this specific location giving me a refund for my insurance, extending my rental, and giving me my new total. They took the keys, denied the evidence, charged my card over $1350, and told us to find a ride. The $400-$500 refund for my full coverage insurance reimbursement never processed either. Still waiting on that.. Horrible experience. Go to Enterprise..

Habitually don’t have car reservations ready on time and have given me multiple vehicles uncleaned where I had to ask for them to be cleaned. Today the car literally didn’t even have the trash of a prior renter removed nor was it full of gas when I picked it up at 4:52 for a 5:00 reservation and when I went back to the front desk they were already closed for the night. Completely unprofessional. One time occurrence would be a mistake but this shouldn’t be their normal operation.
Update - they charged me for fuel despite customer service issuing a case number and telling me to return the vehicle with the same level of fuel it was provided to me with. Now dealing with corporate. This location is a joke.

I rented a car in Birmingham and did a one way drop at this Hertz. They are closed on Sunday, so I followed their instruction and used key drop. They instead tried to charge me for 13 days, and $1700 additional, saying I returned the car in Atlanta (impossible as I was thousands of miles away by then). Note that the location does not answer their phones, and Hertz does not talk to anyone about past rentals- instead referring you to a web form. I’ve had to involve Chase Visa. On Reddit, there are multiple complaints about this problem with Hertz. I recommend avoiding at all costs any drop offs with key drop as it is a problem with this vendor. After many years with Hertz, I am done with them and moving on to Avis.

Had the worst experience attempting to pick up my reserved vehicle the employees are very rude and dismissive after 40 minutes we left without a vehicle they would not provide us with the vehicle. We reserved for the amount we reserved it for regardless of our confirmed confirmation number and reservation. It was shocking and very disappointing since I had planned to see my son who just finished Boot Camp. Your employees are hurtful

Rented a car a week ago for my vacation for 7 days . Picked it up today went to target 2 blocks away tire flat when left. Ok fine put air in no big deal. Go to leave campground and go to bucees a hour latter. Tire is flat again ok fine shit happens. Called to see what can do guy had me on hold for 15 plus mins!!!!! Ok i hang up and call back no ansewer so me being the nice person I am call back to back 9 times ( it was probably more than that ) no answers. Finally someone answered and told me sorry I don't have anything else. I said ok I will ride it on rim no big deal. They done pissed me off. She puts me on hold to go look. Hangs up on me again. So go from pissed to itrate. Keep calling. She miraculously has one that was turned in. I can exchange it for. So we are on our way we will see how south it goes. They did switch out cars. I will give them that much . It's a little bigger than the one we had.

They are the cheapest rental car, but with a short inventory. The website let you do reservations even the location doesn't any car available.

My complaint concerns the disconnect between the online booking and actually what is available at the location. When you call to check availability/make a reservation, the automated system keeps telling you that you should do it online, for more complete info and faster service. So I eventually hang up and easily make a reservation on their website. Then I show up to get the rental, only to be told that they have nothing available. Please fix this disconnect.
