Reserved a full size car through the Chase Travel Portal. Arrived to pick up, was told all they have was a truck. Is it common for a car rental lot to accept automated reservations without having the equipment?I was told "those 3rd party sites don't check with us first", by the Rep at the location. Well, for fun, I just checked the Enterprise site itself after the fact, 30 minutes later; And while I didnt fully complete the reservation, it sure as hell was going to let me reserve the same exact type of car, while again.... You aint got none.It's 2024 yall.

Update:Oct 2023Had to rent a vehicle at the last minute (around 11 am) but there was nothing at all available until 2:00 p.m.! I had no choice but to wait. By 2:30, they still didn't have what I wanted, so they gave me a free upgrade to a small SUV! I LOVED it! The manager even called me during my trip to make sure everything was okay. I really thought that was a nice, special touch! If you can, try to reserve a vehicle at least a week in advance. If needed, I will go here again! Staff is very pleasant and helpful!May 2016:I waited for several hours at the Decatur, Alabama location to pick up my rental. I had made the reservation several weeks ahead of time. When I finally got the vehicle, it was not the one I had requested and the entire crew seemed to be working feverishly to get vehicles ready for people, but wait times were horrendous. Everyone was very upset at the long waits and it was VERY hot outside, which was where everyone had to wait, with very little shade. They did take my phone # so I could get lunch & called when my car was ready, but I had to wait another 20-30 minutes after I got back. I was offered 3 or 4 different vehicles. The vehicle did smell heavily of cigarette smoke, but I was told we were not allowed to smoke in the vehicle, which I found odd. I told the person who took the car back when we returned it of the smell. He said he was sorry. I told him I did not want to be charged for something that was already there when I got the vehicle. There were no extra charges. The vehicle I was given was a VW Jetta, which I was very impressed with. The gas mileage was awesome!! It was a 16 hr round trip & we only spent $40 in gas.

The people at the Decatur location are nice people but our experience with the rental is a different story. I booked a rental for a full size car weeks and weeks ahead of time for a vacation trip. I was told then and assured that they would have what we wanted on the day of pick up. I called 2 days before the pick up to be assured again that what we wanted would be there. The morning we went to get the vehicle we were told all they had was two Toyota Tacoma trucks left that all the other vehicles had been rented out. Patrick the one we were dealing with told us we could swap the truck out at the Enterprise location at the Huntsville Airport. We drive all the way from Decatur to the Airport to be told the have zero vehicles to swap out with!! Patrick assured us before we left that they would have something there to put us in! I called the Decatur location to let them know what was going on only to be told that the store was closing in one minute for that day and that there was nothing they could do for us!! It mad me so mad at this point what we had already been through that I got a little ugly with Drew about the situation. I have to give great thanks to the manager Jayla for working with us after returning the truck. She handled things extremely professionally and was very kind to us and assured us that we would not have to worry about anything like that happening again if we decided to rent from them again. I will rent from them again as long as I can deal with her because of her demeanor and kindness and her knowing how to handle her customers!! Thanks again Jayla for taking a bad situation and turning it into a positive situation!! Thank you again!!!

Didn’t have the vehicle I reserved and only had a truck left and we needed an economy car. After terrible rude service from first attendant who was more interested in playing on internet than waiting on customers or answering the phone that was constantly ringing, Drew came in and saved the day, giving us a free upgrade and getting us on the road quickly after he was aware of our situation.
