The staff is friendly and efficient. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for a family doctor. Dr. Gill is the best!

Haven't been in in a couple of years. I've had to go to urgent care a few times since due to appt wait times. Called to see my Dr. Due to the time I would be treated as a new patient and they were not accepting new patients that were not Blue Cross participants. The only Dr I've seen in 15 years outside of urgent care and they just dumped me.

McQueen is the only nice person there. Can't say the same for the office staff.

I submitted my new patient paperwork right before Christmas and was told that after my paperwork is reviewed I would be contacted to set up my initial appointment. I finally called the office myself 7 weeks later and was told that they had filled their quota of United Healthcare Insurance patients. Very bad service. I could have spent my time locating a provider that would accept my insurance. I did notify UHC that they were not accepting new patients with UHC insurance so hopefully they can update their website.

I see Dr. McQueen normally and have found him to be very thorough and a compassionate physician. All the staff at Gill Family Medicine are fantastic. I have been going for many years and have NEVER had a bad experience with any of the staff. I would highly recommend the group of doctors, nurses, and complete office support staff.

The details you know. But in case you don't, Your office discharged me at my worst. With no explanation in a certified letter. That is not very professional and is very bad for a doctor to do to a patient who is at their worst.

So far, I’ve only had great experiences with them. They schedule appointments quickly and effectively and are easy to work with.I see Megan, she is awesome. The lobby is a little tacky with all the cosmetic advertising, that’s only thing that struck me as strange.

The best doctor’s office in Decatur for the whole family! Dr. Gill truly listens empathizes with his patients, the office is so clean and everyone is so kind, and they see everyone from babies to the elderly. Each visit is quick and efficient and the staff is always professional!

Will never go back unless against my will. As a nurse of 5 years, if you go to this place. Leave. I regret staying as long as I did but also didn't care about what dr I went to until I got older and started to value my health more and got more experience what a "good" dr looks like. This last visit Gill SLAMMED the door and proceeded to mock my symptoms not even asking me one question. And not to mention while he was mocking me he got a part of it wrong... I corrected him on the spot and that only made him puff up more and scoff and become more arrogant. I hardly ever go to the doctor. I've never experienced this intense pain in my upper abdomen and his CRNP was the only one who had appointments that day so I had no choice but have to see her and that means seeing him at the very end of the visit. Like many people who go to this practice I try to avoid ever being seen by gill. He has had a reputation of arrogance, poor bedside manner and being money hungry to name a few. I had no choice this visit. I have been warned about him since I was a teen and try to avoid visits with him at all cost and would chose Matthew's over him. I was never once rude or mean. Him coming in to slam the door took me completely off guard. As he proceeded to roll his eyes, scoff and be demeaning was COMPLETELY out of line and uncalled for. NOT TO MENTION I was by myself which makes me even more disgusted with his behavior because he would have NEVER acted the way he did or talk to me the way he did if my husband or father was in the room or a lot more would have went down that day. Absolutely disgusting. I WISH I would have recorded him! I told him on the spot "I do not appreciate you slamming the door and being spoken to this way. I want to leave." I started to cry out of complete shock of his behavior. I then said "you are being aggressive and rude and I want to leave. I do not appreciate the way you are speaking to me" he started to laugh! And he said "I've never been called aggressive my whole life" little did he know I have been around his family for years and know a LOT of nasty things people have said about him. BUT to be fair that wasn't the best word to describe his behavior but at the moment I was shaken up. He was being more so very condescending, rude, and completely out of line. I work in an ER in some VERY intense situations where being direct and assertive is needed. It is NEVER needed or called for to be slamming doors and condescending... ect. towards pts. NOT ONE dr I have worked with has ever slammed the door on a pt or has spoken to a pt the way Gill was speaking to me that day. And in a ER you are involved in WAY MORE intense and crazy situations with VERY unruly patients, as you can imagine. That says a LOT about his character alone. I highly regret ever giving this practice any of my money. I'm disappointed in myself for staying as long as I did just out of pure laziness of not switching primary doctors. But again I didn't care until now and I didn't know what a good dr looked like until now! If you are looking for a humble/caring primary physician Gill is NOT it. I got home after that appointment and I told my MIL who babysitting for me what had happened. Her reply was "I've never heard good things about him or his practice" and the more people I tell about this instance the MORE people are telling me about their bad experiences at GFM makes me disgusted. Not to mention they like to delete negative reviews over the years so we shall see how long this one lasts.

I have been going to Gill Family for around 20 years. Last Wednesday, 11/23/2022, a lady from the office called and threatened me with dropping me as a patient if I didn't do a Medicare Wellness assessment this year with them. This is not a requirement by Medicare and she said it is a policy of Gill Medical that I must do every year. I have not signed anything stating this or find any documentation showing this. I will be looking for another doctor now due to this. I had a 6 month checkup with my doctor over a month ago and he said it would be ok to do every 2 years. I work around 60 hours a week and just don't have the time to do this since they do nothing different than what they do when I have my 6 month checkups.

I am the husband of Maria writing this review. I have NEVER had a problem at this medical practice. Dr McQueen is an excellent listener and physician, plus he's a Bama grad & fan. The front office folks have always been helpful & friendly. Whenever I send a portal message, Amanda takes care of business immediately. They understand the importance of care & follow-up for patients.

I decided today that I would not be back, after only 2 real visits. The front office/receptionist was extremely rude to me after a mix up on their end. They never seem to be able to get you in there in a timely manner. I saw Alan, and he was very nice and helpful. I just can't deal with the front desk people anymore.

My father has gone to Dr. Gill for years now. On Saturday, he tested positive for COVID-19. He has a cough, a sore throat, congestion, a fever. The works. He had Gill Family Medicine call in a prescription for him. They then cancelled that prescription and told him that he has to come in and have an appointment three days into having still very active COVID-19. CDC guidelines state that you have to quarantine for at least 5 days. They justified this by saying that he’ll just come in a side door. It still puts people at risk that he’s going out at all, especially the elderly and immunocompromised. I had COVID-19 last year. I had a serious injury 10 days into quarantine. When I went in to get treated, I got an earful about how I wasn’t supposed to leave the house at all. We have proof through a positive test that my dad has COVID-19. There’s no reason to have him put others at risk and come in. I would recommend steering clear of Dr. Gill.Edited to add: I don't know why they claim that they do, but Gill Family Medicine objectively does not follow CDC guidelines. The guidelines state that any positive individuals should isolate (stay home and away from others) for 5 days following a positive test. My father tested positive on Saturday (I was present when he tested positive) and was forced to come see Dr. Gill in order to receive medicine on Tuesday (I saw him leave that morning). That would make it day 3. He both left the house and saw the doctor, which breaks both conditions of the CDC guidelines for isolation. My father already had proof of COVID-19 and did not have any sort of extreme symptoms that might justify breaking isolation.

I was so impressed with Gill Family Medicine. The staff was very kind and courteous to me. They were very efficient and I didn't have a long wait at all. Dr. Gill is a fantastic doctor and he really takes his time to care for his patients. I felt very well taken care of and the staff continued to check on me after my visit. I couldn't recommend this place more, it is the best in Decatur for sure!
