Shopping Winn Dixie has been a staple in my families food supply chain since I can remember. The friendly faces and smiles from staff members always makes me feel welcome. The chain although bought out by Southeast Grocers has maintained the southern hospitality image til recent times. Growing up in the south, my family has always chosen Winn Dixie stores for their meats due to the quality and freshness. Beyond Walmart, and beyond the other chain grocers, Winn Dixie has toed the line with their exceptional cuatomer service. The BOGO deals and fuel perks offered as part of the rewards program kept me coming back again time after time. The employees ready to assist your needs, will sometimes just ask a customer how they are feeling and if they have found everything alright. This practice of including the customer as part of the daily routine really showed they care what we customers thought of them. Lately, with the popularity of Publix and Dollar general stores popping up everywhere, the old fashioned style has become forgotton and the Winn Dixie stores are showing its age. Rather than improve, Southeastern Grocers are closing these stores and putting their bi-lo brand where Winn Dixie use to be. During the COVID pandemic, I have noticed the prices get higher than other chains, especially the meats. Perhaps this a sign of the times, but I refuse to accept it. My frequent trips will be much less unless they (Southeastern Grocers) take a closer look at their customer experience team and make necesaary adjustments.
