The Baldwin County Heritage Museum in Elberta, AL, offers a wonderful and fantastic place to discover the area's rich history. While it looks small from the outside, the amount of artifacts on display is unbelievable, with so much more to see than expected. Visitors can explore interesting exhibits filled with old antiques, old machinery, tools, clothes, and displays on World War involvement. The museum provides a nice, low-key atmosphere for learning a lot about Baldwin County's past. In addition to the main museum, there are several historic buildings out back, including an original one-room schoolhouse with teachers' quarters, an early church, a general store, a blacksmith shop, and horse or steam-driven machinery. Great and kind staff, including docents, often share knowledge about the restoration work.
