My interactions with Ms. Hancock have only ever been negative. I have not, and would not, use her services and I do not recommend working with her.

I own a small business in Dothan, AL, and have used Hancock for all our accounting needs since we first started the business a little more than twenty years ago. When a business such as Hancock does a good job at a reasonable cost they have many customers, and when that business has many customers there are bound to be some delays. Whenever we were faced with a delay we were notified as early as possible and kept informed as to what to expect next. We receive very good service from Suzanne and her crew, and highly recommend them to all.

Hancock Accounting has filed our taxes for at least 5 years. I love the ease of filling out the worksheet and dropping off our docs in their safe hands. Suzanne is quick to call us with exactly what the return or amount owed will be. She has been knowledgeable to answer any questions I have. Her staff is professional and well trained. Thank you Suzanne for all of your hard work!

If I could give this business a zero I would have. I was new to the area and picked up her card at the Enterprise Welcome Center...big mistake. I made an appointment with her in February and I pretty much had all my stuff together on a spreadsheet. I have always been pretty organized. When I went to my appointment it was just to drop off the paperwork. She told me she would call me when it was done. I received a call from the accountant close to the tax deadline and was informed I was going to owe the IRS over $17,000. I knew I may have to owe some but was shocked when I heard that amount. I paid part of it and was told the number may change after she completed my returns. The next call was for an extension, and then after that, it went downhill fast. Every time I tried to call on the status of my returns the accountant was either attending training or with her sick mother. I did not get my returns done until the middle of September! I had to pay a late fee and a penalty. I have never in all the 40+ years of filing my income taxes have been late, filed an extension, etc. This accountant is incompetent and appeared to be overwhelmed by my tax questions. I had sold a lot of property and it should not have been complicated because I had all the paperwork. In addition, she was not upfront when it came to her fees. I would avoid this business at all cost!

I called to make an appointment. We waited a week to get in. When we arrive, it was just an appointment to drop off our paperwork. We were told it would take another week to prepare our taxes. We finally receive a call our taxes were finished. First trip to their office to pick up and they were closed. Second trip to pick up and as I am walking to the door, a woman is coming out the door and tells me to come back another time, she was going to lunch. Long story short, it took almost a month to finally get out taxes filed. The "accountant" was not able to answer basic questions. Example, our daughter goes to private school. With the new tax program, her tuition is deductible for 2018 taxes. She was unable to answer how it works, she told us we need to hire a financial counselor to answer that question. When we went to pick up our taxes, we had her receptionist talking to us, she was to "busy" to come in and answer questions. We had questions about our filing withholdings, the receptionist told us she couldn't answer any questions because she wasn't an accountant. My reply was, "that's why we came to am accountant instead of going to H&R block." We ended up leaving paying $265 to get zero questions answered, made 4 trips to her office , waited a month to file and had ZERO questions answered... you decide if we got our money's worth. I seriously could have saved a lot of money and aggravation and filed with Turbo Tax.
