I had a disappointing experience with this company when they filed my corporate taxes (Form 1120-S). Despite the IRS providing official disaster relief for businesses in my area—Sheffield, Alabama—due to Hurricane Helene, the preparer claimed I owed late penalties and insisted there was no way around it.
I did my own follow-up and contacted the IRS directly. They confirmed my return was considered timely filed due to the disaster relief window (September 22, 2024 – May 1, 2025), and all penalties and interest were removed.
This tax firm either didn’t know the current IRS policy or didn’t bother to check. I find that unprofessional, especially when dealing with sensitive financial matters that affect small business owners.
I’m sharing this so others can make an informed decision. Always double-check what your preparer tells you—especially when it involves penalties.

Tax Mart is the ONLY PLACE TO EVER MAKE TAX TIME GREAT!!! Sandra and Larry are the absolute best ppl to get you EVERY $ back that you can possibly receive. The ENTIRE STAFF is awesome. Lot of family in this building and they truly care about you.

I highly recommend Tax Mart. My husband and I have them for years. Last year we had some issues with Alabama. They went above and beyond to help us. We couldnt have gotten the issue resolved without them. .They are people who care about people.

If I could give 0 stars I would! I did my taxes here a few years back and they caused me to not get a return AT ALL! So that was a while back and I decided to give them another chance a last yr and it was not the best experience but I was going to go to them yet again (don't ask me why because idk ?) at the door it says masks required (come on people it's not even a pandemic anymore) but hey whatever so we walked in with our kids, a lady immediately starts pretty much running towards us yelling that children are not allowed in the building and made us exit! My children are extremely well behaved in public and would have caused no problem and if she would have been polite about it honestly I would have went and sat with my kids in the car and let my husband do the paperwork. But after that I will NEVER step foot back into that place, I have never been so disrespected just for having my kids with me!! Would not recommend this place to anyone EVER!

Wellll, we had an appointment today 2_16_22 which was made awhile back. When we reached the building the woman at the door greater us with a mask and told us only one could come in at the time. Ok, her mask was dangling from one ear, the others were wearing them under their nose. Then we got the message that the lady we were supposed to see was out sick today.. I believe they could have let us know earlier than on arrival. Long story short. We will not be back

Tax Mart is open 7 days a week during Tax season and until 9pm on weekdays. They can accommodate most anyone's schedule and have some of the best Tax preparers in this area.

I used tax software for several years because it was cheaper than going to a tax person. Using that software I had to pay taxes at tax time. A close friend recommended Tax Mart so I tried them. I found I should have been getting refunds all along! Larrie at Tax Mart is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I trust them to know all the tax law changes, to get me a refund if I am due one, and to get all of that to which I am entitled. People need to call early for an appointment because they are very busy.
