Superb customer service and knowledgeable staff; one associate spent almost an hour with us making sure we got everything we needed for our DIY home project (had a smile on his face the whole time too). ?

I probably spend more time and money than I should here. I could probably spend a million dollars at Lowe's and still want more stuff. Under cabinet lights will be my next project.

The next time I’m at this Lowe’s and the only register that’s open is the self check out, I am simply going to put my items down and leave. Pay employees.

Yesterday, I visited the Lowes in Fort Payne and was taken aback by the attitude of the employees. Despite Lowes promoting a "Do it Yourself" ethos for projects, it seems this mindset now extends to obtaining customer service within the store; if you need help finding something, you'd better find it yourself---don't expect anyone who works there to help you! The experience was disappointing as I found myself on a solitary quest to locate items on my list, including a 40" ruler or Carpenter's Square, a sheet of plywood/OSB, and drywall tape which were scattered throughout the store.Despite the store not being overly busy, my search took at least 25 minutes and I finally had to stop an employee and ask him where rulers/squares were. He pointed me to the front of the store. The OSB was fortunately near the front of the Contractor's Checkout (and not displayed with the other thicknesses of OSB), but the absence of available carts or buggies compounded the challenge. At 71 years of age, while the load wasn't excessively heavy, handling a 4 x 8 ft. sheet of plywood proved awkward ; too, the area was windy (a Wind Advisory had been issued by the National Weather Service) and the wind loved playing havoc with the 4 x 8 sheet of OSB. To my dismay, there were no carts in sight. ( I did manage to get it out of the store and waited for my Brother to drive up nearby so it could be loaded, see photo of my 4 x 8 leaning and waiting for its ride,)Upon reaching the checkout, I had shared my observation with the cashier about the lack of available carts. In response, she curtly informed me that they were " all in the parking lot" (as shown in the attached photo). When I questioned why they hadn't been brought in, she defensively claimed that everyone was busy "helping customers", (a better response would have been to call her Manager and tell him Customers needed carts brought in from the parking lot?) This sounded good, but contradicted my observations, as I had noticed several employees hanging in groups of two or more during my journey through the store. It appears that socializing with fellow employees has taken priority over helping shoppers at this Lowes. I did pass several employees during my search but all of them acted like I was an intrusion to their group and looked the other way; none of them offered to help me.The overall experience left me dissatisfied, not only due to the absence of assistance but also because of the apparent deficiency in customer service skills among the employees. I left Lowes with a resolve to explore alternative shopping options in the future. Unfortunately, while Lowes may have been short of staff, I witnessed more than enough employees (in my opinion) to have permitted me the time of at least one helpful person; instead they were running together like a pack of coyotes a couple of them hand both hands in their pockets ( I guess they were on break). They seem to enjoy "working with each other" a little too much! I would not recommend the Ft. Payne Lowes to anyone as the lack of assistance and subpar customer service detracted significantly from the overall shopping experience. Don't let anyone give an excuse for being short staffed, for there were plenty of employees on the floor; they just weren't helping customers (in fact one group was joking with other members of their group)!Note: In the photos you can see the parking lot is not crowded except for the bunch of buggies/carts who were hanging out in a group in the parking lot just like the employees who were grouped together in the store. Guess they needed some time to "air out?" or were "on a break?" Don't waste your breath commenting about having no cart or help finding anything at this Lowes with the young lady who works at the Contractor's Checkout.

Do you not apply for their credit card. I am a contractor I spend thousands of dollars at Lowe's I have over a 720 credit score no late payments no hard inquiries a homeowner and they still denied me

Called 4 times between 8 and 9. Every time, after I finally talked to a person, they transferred me to bathroom supplies only for the salesperson to listen to me, then hang UPP0!

I will never buy anything from this store that has to be delivered. I bought a washing machine on Wednesday and was told it would be delivered on Friday. On Friday , I was given a delivery time of 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Around 3pm I received a message that the truck had broken down and delivery would be delayed 1 hour. After 6pm received a message that delivery would be delayed 2 hours. I was told the delivery may arrive that night or be rescheduled for next week. I told them this was not acceptable. I was then told delivery would be scheduled for Saturday and time of delivery 5pm to 9pm. Late Saturday , I was called and told delivery was rescheduled for Sunday. Delivery time on Sunday was 5pm to 9pm. On Sunday, I was told my washing machine was left in Gadsden and not on delivery truck.Remember I bought the machine at the Fort Payne store and was told they had it in stock. I don’t know why it was left in Gadsden. On Sunday I saw the delivery truck at 12:30pm about 7 miles from my house. I called Lowe’s several times and customer service is non existent. They kept telling me to call the delivery company. Finally on Sunday one of the managers at Lowe’s told me she would make sure the machine was delivered on Monday. The machine was delivered on Monday.
