“Just this past Sunday afternoon, we were on I-20 passing through Heflin when we blew a gasket on the thermostat on our truck. Driving from Florida, we were about an hour away from our destination. Searching through the internet for 24-hour roadside assistance, I reached the Heflin Texaco. A young woman answered the phone, I explained the issue and she told me the driver was out on a call and either he or she would call me back soon with any updates. And, soon they did. The owner himself drove out to find us. He put our truck on the back of the tow truck, drove us to a hotel in Heflin and told us he would work us in the next morning. He had us in right away, told us there was a part needed about 40 minutes away and that he would go get it himself. Long story cut back a bit. He retrieved the part, his mechanic worked on it and we were back on the road, just a few hours later. Talking with my mechanic back home, in Indiana, he gave me his price for the repair, which was right on the mark with Mr. Cheatwood's. I don't think we could have ever found any better place to have done business. It was obvious they were sincere in wanting to help us and help us get back on the road. I pray no one the situation we were in, but if it happens to you, I hope you are close enough to call Cheatwood's Texaco in Heflin, they will take great care of you. Thank you Cheatwood's Texaco, Matt Oh, and I recommend the Mexican restaurant next to the only hotel in Heflin, just off I-20 in Heflin. Recommended to us my Mr. Cheatwood's. June 7, 2022”

“SPOTLESS, gorgeous women's bathroom in the last place that you would expect it! ? A small truck stop convenience store. However, I have seen much stranger things out here on the road. The staff here were your typical, sweet and good-natured Alabamians. This is a little gem of a truck stop with great food in the hot case and possibly a parking spot for a weary trucker that didn't have any luck finding one at the nearby, big-name truck stop. Parking is extremely reasonable for today's parking prices. Just pay it and stay it. You won't regret it.”
