“While traveling home from Missouri to Florida, the engine light came on in Birmingham Ala. After a stop at an auto parts store, it was coding for an issue with the transmission. I got off highway and stopped at a hotel for the night. I started looking for shops that were somewhat close to where I was staying. The next day, after not getting an answer at the first one I called, I called Valley Drive Auto and Brian answered the phone. He told me to bring it in and he would take a look at it. After he took it for a test drive and monitoring the truck, he determined the best course of action would be to replace the transmission and I agreed. He made a couple calls and found one that was available and it would be delivered the same day or first thing the next day. It showed up around 1300 the same day and he called me to bring truck back. I brought the truck back to the shop and Brian was nice enough to give me a ride back to my hotel ( ~5 miles or so). The next day he called me at ~1130 telling me the work was done. He then came and picked me up at the hotel to bring me back to his shop. I had an absolutely positive experience with this shop and I highly recommend them. Thank you Brian and crew for working me in!”

“These guys are heroes! I'am new to Birmingham and got a flat downtown, which was pretty stressful. I pulled in here, and the team was immediately amazing.
Alex and Danny were super friendly, got me right in, and were clearly very knowledgeable. While they patched my tire, they even took the time to explain in detail how the patch works. I've never had a shop do that! Even with that great explanation, I was still out the door in less than 15 minutes.
The best part? When I went to pay, they said it was on the house as a goodwill gesture. I was blown away. What a perfect example of true Southern Hospitality! Honest, kind, and fast.

“We traveled from Maryland for the Thanksgiving holiday and needed some work done on our Volvos prior to driving back home. The owner Alex, waited for us to arrive although it was near to their closing time. Once we arrived he was efficient and knowledgeable about our cars. Repaired the Volvos and made sure sufficient air was in our tires in record breaking time. We drove back to Maryland without any issues. Great place with exceptional service! If we lived near Birmingham Alex at GTech would be our only mechanic!! Two thumbs UP!!”
“I took my newly purchased 328i in today, and the owner was friendly and honest about my belt needing to be replaced eventually, but mentioned that it is not urgent. He fixed rear lights, which he mentioned didn’t work because of a bad ground connection. The price was reasonable for my oil change and lights!”

“Great customer service. Very prompt, direct and honest with their communication and quotes. They were able to schedule me very quickly and performed the work in an extremely timely manner. Furthermore, they provided detailed documentation on the work performed, as well as the issues with the transmission which was replaced. They turned what was looking like a month or more of a headache with the dealership into less than a week. I will absolutely use this shop again for other automotive services, not just transmission work.”
“I have only used Jim & Jim's Body Shop once at the recommendation of a former co-worker. I went there after calling because my driver side mirror was broken off. Instead of paying lots of money to have it replaced, they simply glued it back on. This didn't last very long unfortunately, but longer than having duct tape on my car. I eventually had to have the whole mirror replaced, but overall I was pleased with the work they did.
I didn't find the business rude by any means. They were a courteous staff, and got to work on my car as quickly as they could. I'm soon to have future body work needed on my car due to a car accident, and I'm considering using Jim & Jim's again because they are close to home, and I had a pleasurable experience during my last visit.”

“M&B transmissions are the most honest mechanics we have encountered in years. My 2019 Toyota Avalon had been serviced by 2 local
Toyota dealers who have probably robbed us for years. We always ended up paying more than recommended service when we took our car in. After being told that our car needed a new transmission ($10000) or we could trade it in on a new vehicle, we had had enough. I told them my car had NEVER had any transmission slipping or missing until they did a flush that was recommended. M&B diagnosed my car and reset the computer codes and said they found nothing else wrong with the car. We have been driving the car for a week now with no trouble. And they charged NOTHING. That is honesty and we will be going to them for all your repairs from now on.”

“I was recommended to Chip and his team by a good friend — and I’m glad I gave him a call. We took the truck for a test drive to track down the real issue, and it turned out the long-term fix was going to be an upgraded transmission.
