“I wanted to start biking again, but my bike has been neglected for several years. I called a couple places and they wanted over $100 just to bring it in the door... Then I remembered an old classmate had a bike shop (he was/is a good guy, not a questionable classmate). Anyway, I took it in and a young man put my bike on the rack and walked through everything he saw as being an issue. I know very little about bikes, so he could have told me all kinds of things were fouled and I wouldn't have known better. Both tires were flat, so they could have charged me for tubes and/or tires, and it would have been logical to me. However, all it took to get me riding was a new chain and a brake adjustment to fix a rub. I made a couple part upgrades, but just the parts and labor was less than $100!!!! What??? I would have had to pay more than that at other places just to walk through the issues, and then the cost of the chain on top of that. I can't say your repairs will be so inexpensive, but you can know that you'll be treated fairly and you'll only be paying for actual issues rather than paying unnecessary fees in addition to whatever they find to repair. Plus, you're supporting a local business with local employees and local families.
Everyone I've talked to in the shop is very knowledgeable and friendly. There's a nice selection of bikes and accessories in the store if you need to find a new bike or just want to spruce up your current ride.”
