I purchased a car from CarMax Huntsville in August 2022. I was told at the time that it had been in a minor accident. This week I decided to trade that car in for another at a different dealership and was told by the dealership that my car had been in 2 minor accidents and 1 major accident with airbag deployment which was confirmed on the Carfax. This was a shock to me as Carmax has said that they do not sell cars with that history. I reviewed my purchase paperwork and there is no report showing any of these accidents. Obviously the value of the car was hit very hard. Long story short, I owned the car for less than 18 months and lost over $22K on that car. I am sick over this and will never buy from here again. Hard lesson learned and one of my biggest regrets.

I found the car online and made an appt to go test drive it at the Huntsville location. I loved it and bought it that day.

I love CarMax because for one they have a large selection of all kinds of vehicles to choose from. I had just started a new job 2 months before my car that I had decided to say ok it's OVER. I had someone to pick me up and we went to several car lots. Finally we stopped at CarMax and was able to find what I was needing the car had low mileage. It was almost new but I had a low car note. When I had car issues they were addressed with little to nothing out of pocket. Just want to say thank you CarMax I have paid my car off and I'm ready for the next one.

We ordered a car online and had it shipped to the Huntsville location. I had specifically asked before ordering if the doors were automatic and had mentioned that the funds would be coming from a wire. I had also asked if there were any noticeable cosmetic issues with the vehicle and was informed that there is a detailed inspection process and that everything was in order. When the car arrived, I was given an appointment for express checkout, since I was paying outright. An hour before the appointment, however, I was informed that there was an issue with the wire...being that they had none...because they never requested one. I was told that the wire would take 3-5 business days to go through. We were driving a rental and didn't want to pay for additional days. That was all a bit frustrating. Alas, I took matters into my own hands, and called my bank and asked if they would approve a one time debit release for the amount required. It all went through. The manager understood my frustration and offered to make things right. When we went to the car for final inspection, it came to our attention, that there were in fact, no automatic doors. Also, we saw that the back row seating was broken and would not lay down. While I was fairly disappointed with the misinformation on the door issue, they offered to have the seat fixed on their dime. Ultimately, I was happy that the manager approached me to apologize for the issues. The team is very friendly and willing to make things right. But they lose one star for not being totally honest with the "quality" check and the organization for how the sale is run.

After our 2016 Sonata getting totaled we were in the market for a new car. After hours of research and car shopping we decided on CarMax. We favorited a few and started a conversation with a sales person. From start to finish everyone we spoke to was friendly and incredibly helpful. We picked out our new car and did most of the paperwork online then booked an appointment to pick up our car. Day of was quick and efficient. Sign a few papers and within an hour we were on the road with our 2021 outback.

Bought a car in January 2023, week later took in to look at some issues. Carmax had the car for 2 weeks trying to find the problem. When I finally got the car back I barely made it home when it was having worse problems. It was driveable when I had them look at it, when I got it back it was barely driveable. Took it right back and returned the car under the 30 day return policy. I should have gone to another car dealer but no we got another car from them and 6 months later had to Replace the engine! It was under the warranty thank goodness but here we are in December and still having issues. I'm locked into paying on a car that I'm pouring money into to fix. The employees are great and wonderful but the cars are not worth the money. Do not take the car for them to service, take it to an authorized mechanic. I took mine to Bryans. At the moment the car is not running and I am trying to get in touch with them for service. Look elsewhere.

The vehicle was not ready to be presented to a potential buyer. They had a weeks notice we were coming, still they were not ready. This occurred at multiple locations. Seems to be a culture problem. Worse part? The vehicles we were looking for were still under oem factory warranty and still had unrepaired mechanical issues.

I was very disappointed that the offer to purchase my 2005 Hyundai Santa fe was lowered by more than 1/2 from $1,100 to $500 due to faded paint on the hood.
